Exams are COMPULSORY. NO child will be excused from writing. PLEASE NOTE SCHOOL OFFICE HOURS: 07:30 15:30 MONDAY to THURSDAY 07:30 14:00 FRIDAY Your co-operation to contact/or come into the office during these hours would be appreciated. Staff members who are in the office outside of these hours are trying to catch up on their work. PLEASE NOTE: EARLY DEPARTURES The children will be sent down to the school office to wait - from the break closest to the time you wish to collect them. In future, we will not be able to call them out of class this causes too much of a disruption to the class. Thank you! EARLY DEPARTURES FROM SCHOOL Children leaving school early may ONLY be collected at either - first break (09:50 10:10) second break (12:10 12:25 Monday to Thursday) (11:40 12:00 Friday) SA CONQUESTA MULTIPLE CHOICE OLYMPIADS GRADES 4, 5, 6 and 7? Entry form was printed in a previous newsletter (or ask for one at the school office). Please return form and money to your child s class teacher as soon as possible. D-DAY FOR ENTRIES IS NEARING. WINTER UNIFOR M Winter uniform will be optional for the month of APRIL, and will become compulsory from MONDAY, 3 MAY. Your co-operation is greatly appreciated. The school winter tracksuit may be worn to school on Phys Ed days only. 2 nd Term: Grade 4 7 pupils must bring their tennis racquets to school on Phys Ed days. Parents, please ensure that your child comes to school neatly dressed. For Phys Ed white takkies ONLY please. PLEASE NOTE SCHOOL CLOTHING SHOP will, in future, be open on the first and last THURSDAY of every month. Open again tomorrow THURSDAY, 29 APRIL 13:30 14:15 BIG PLEASE! Mrs Reitz would like to hold a HUGE BOOK SALE to raise funds for our SCHOOL SOUND SYSTEM. Please, if you perhaps have any books either adult or children s which are just lying around and collecting dust, we would really appreciate it if you would consider donating them to the school for this worthy cause. Our BOOK SALE is planned for FRIDAY, 30 APRIL 2010 and will take place in the ART ROOM from 13:00. PRICES will range from R5 R20 a book. Parents and friends most welcome. CONGRATULATIONS ACROBATIC GYMNASTICS CHELSEA THATCHER was recently selected to represent South Africa at the World Age Group Competition in Wroclaw, Poland during the June/July holidays. What an honour! Superb Chelsea! BASEBALL KIAN SCHWARTZ recently represented Eastern Gauteng in the 2010 Regional Baseball Tournament in Natal. MATTHEW WARE recently represented Eastern Gauteng in the 2010 Regional Baseball tournament in Natal (u/14 s). Well done to both of you Gentlemen! Keep it up! CRICKET GARY EDWARDS was recently nominated the Benoni Northern Cricket Club U/12 Player of the Year - best bowling and batting figures for the 2009/2010 season. Wonderful news, Gary keep it up! DANCING CATIA INFANTE participated in the 2010 Discorama Dance Festival recently: 1 st Place Rock n Roll Couples 1 st Place Freestyle Couples 3 rd Place Slow Dance DANIELA INFANTE also participated in this Dance Festival 5 th Place Freestyle Solo 6 th Place Freestyle Slow Dance Our dancing stars keep up the hard work!

3 SWIMMING MELISSA THEODOROU achieved 5 top 10 Places at the Telkom SA Level One Championship: 200m Freestyle 200m Breaststroke 100m Freestyle 100m Breaststroke 200m Intermediate Melissa improved her time by 27 seconds in total in the above races. Thrilled for you keep up the hard work! I do hope that you all had a super L-O-N-G weekend.
