Our school prides itself on the spirit that can be found in our students, teachers, sporting teams, achievements, friendships and approach to learning. 3 How Information and Communication Technologies are used to assist learning As a school committed to contemporary learning, ICLT is an integral part of the dynamic learning experience at MMK. All of our classroom are equipped with Interactive Whiteboards. The entire site is serviced by an integrated wireless network to support the use of mobile technology. All classrooms have desktop computers and several banks of laptop computers are used through out the school. During their schooling, students become familiar with both Apple and PC platforms and a wide range of a applications. Our teachers undertake extensive ongoing professional development and are committed to ensuring that all students are given the skills to engage effectively as global citizens. Social climate Our school is an integral party of the St Mary MacKillop Parish and we value the relationships between all community members. In the way both Jesus and St Mary MacKillop embraced and helped all people, we endeavour to be welcoming and promote a strong sense of belonging and involvement to all community members. Our parent pastoral network provides activities for families to connect with each other in the true spirit of a Christian community. 4 Involving parents in their child s education Parent involvement in children's education and the general life of Mary MacKillop Catholic Primary School is both highly valued and a crucial component of the educational team working together for the education of each child. Your involvement can be as diverse as you wish, ranging from direct involvement in classrooms (as co-ordinated by individual teachers), working bees, mowing rosters, excursions etc. Your involvement is welcome and encouraged. All volunteers must be trained in Student protection and Safety protocols before they can lend their skills and services within the community. Either through undertaking the training through a home based module or attending School based training, parents, grandparents and friends can agree to a code of conduct and register as a volunteer in our school.
