6 MUSIC AND THE MIND ~ Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board A POWERFUL COMBINATION Music has the ability to facilitate language exploration, reading readiness, mathematical skills and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to promote social development, self worth and creativity. ~ Patricia Fiorino, EOCCC Music Curriculum Elementary Music Program Singing, moving to music and playing instruments energizes our K-8 students. We have specialized staff delivering a highly-interactive program in every classroom every week. Please help us keep the music playing Do you have an old instrument gathering dust in a corner or tucked away in a closet? Would you like to give it a chance to make music again in the hands of an eager student? If a person donates an instrument to our school, we can provide you with a tax receipt for the appraised value of the item. We can use ANY used instrument. Condition is not important (even worn out instruments often have useable parts).
