11 6 th FORM UNIFORM LIST In recognition of their growing maturity and independence, the dress code for the Sixth Form is Tailored dress for both boys and girls. This is intended to strike a balance between individuality and the need to represent the school to the wider community. We hope that Sixth Formers will recognise the importance of taking pride in a smart appearance appropriate to a place of work and of setting an example to younger pupils. A smart tailored suit in Dark Colours Navy, Black or Grey A smart shirt/blouse of a single, sober colour Black shoes Any tailored suit from the major department stores that fits the above criteria would normally be deemed appropriate. Specific issues for boys and girls are listed below GIRLS: Tailored skirt (just above the knee or longer) or trouser suits are acceptable. Tailored Trousers. Navy, Plain or Black Tights (Fine or opaque only- no patterns). Jewellery and make up should be minimal and discreet (eg: single, fine chains are permitted as are single ear studs). Woollen jumpers Plain coloured jumpers may be worn under the suit jacket in the winter. Top coats for winter wear should be plain black, grey or navy and of formal business style. Black shoes must be flat or low heeled. BOYS: Plain coloured jumpers may be worn under the suit jacket in winter. 6 th Form, Prefect s or other appropriate school tie as appropriate. Boys should be clean-shaven at all times and are not permitted to wear Jewellery. Top coats for winter wear should be plain black, grey or navy and of a formal style. The above list is not meant to be exhaustive but instead represents a guideline to what is acceptable smart clothing. If in doubt the Head of Sixth Form should be contacted prior to any purchase to confirm the suitability of any items.
