2 Freedom Fortnight Celebrations Azadi 70 - Yaad Karo Kurbani Independence Day Celebration STD VI to X Date: 15-Aug-2016 India s 70 th Independence Day was celebrated at Alpine Public School on 15 th August 2016 with full fervour. The flag hoisting ceremony was performed by the respected Chairman of the school followed by patriotic songs by the school choir. The students of classes VI to X did the march past as swiftly and energetically as the soldiers of our country. Students also exhibited various cultural programs through dances and human pyramid formation that exhibited the true feelings of patriotism. Flag Hoisting by Respected Chairman

6 DATE: 23/08/16 CLASS: VIII ACTIVITY: ELOCUTION REPORT: In connection with the Independence Day s celebration, VIII STD students from Alpine Public School presented an Elocution program based on the theme "Azadi 70- Yaad Karo Kurbani" The sentiments, the emotions associated with the great Indian freedom struggle were eloquently expressed by students which clearly showed the sacrifices of our freedom fighters were there in hearts and minds. The occasion gave them an opportunity to search for the most beautiful and moving account of the freedom struggle in form of poetry and prose. Eloquent speakers of Std VIII

8 Date: Class: IV Activity: Slogan writing Report: Students of Std IV participated in slogan writing to pay tribute and respect to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for India's freedom. 9 Date: Class: V Activity: Tree plantation drive Report: Students of Std V were an enthusiastic lot as they were told to bring a sapling of their choice. They were well aware that the trees and plants are their best friends. A suitable area near the school garden was chosen for them to plant and was helped by their teacher and the gardener. 10 Date: Class: I, II &III Activity: Report: On August , the students of STD I, II & III showed their talents that reflected patriotism. They made drawings and greeting cards for the jawans posted at the borders as a sign of gratitude for protecting our motherland. 12 Date: Class: IX- XII Activity: Talk on freedom movement of 1857 Report: On August , a special session was conducted for the students of STD: IX- XII by the organization, Yuva Brigade at the school premises to refresh student s patriotism and memories of freedom struggle. The workshop was conducted by Chakravarthy Soolibele team members-vinay & Mrs,Usha Jagadish. The hour-long session covered milestone achievement of the freedom movement and contribution of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Mangal Pande, Rani Lakshmi Bai and many more. 14 Date: Class: IX Activity: Skit Report: As a part of the Independence Day s celebrations, initiated by the CBSE under the theme "Azadi 70-Yaad Karo Kurbani, the students of IX std from Alpine Public School presented various skits to showcase their patriotic feelings and fervor. It was a great combination of creative skills and patriotic sentiments as they went back into history and searched for touching events from freedom movement which could be depicted through short skits with a message. Students felt happy to be a part of the activity, which not only refreshed their minds but also gave them an opportunity to recall the incidents occurred during the war of independence and remember the great sacrifices made by the heroes of freedom struggle. Remembering the great freedom struggle Culmination of the fortnight celebration on 23 rd August 2016 The fortnight celebration of 70 years of Indian Independence ended formally on 23 rd August The students were told about the significance of this celebration and the whole school sang the National Anthem.
