The Family of Faith campaign received tremendous support this past week from donors throughout the archdiocese participating in their parish campaigns. In one week alone, $4 million was raised! That is a record week for parish campaigns. Many thanks to the clergy, volunteers and parishioners who are stepping up and supporting the Family of Faith campaign. The campaign has now raised $70.3 million in gifts and pledges toward the minimum goal of $105 million. In addition, 17 Wave 2 parishes have now exceeded their goals. Collectively parishes in this wave have raised $19.1 million or 71 their collective goal. Next Monday, February 16 th is Family Day and we will be closed as we spend time with our own families. The Family of Faith campaign office team extends its best to you and your families that day. Campus Chaplaincy On Friday, February 6 th, His Eminence Cardinal Thomas Collins blessed the Ryerson University Catholic Student Centre. The Family of Faith campaign earmarked $5 million for Campus and Young Adult Ministry. The Ryerson University chaplaincy had an urgent need for improved space to house its outreach centre. To address this need, $1 million was flowed to upgrade Hogan House, an archdiocesan building near the campus. In addition, this month, parishes that participated in the pilot phase of the campaign will receive their first allocations based on funds received to date. Orientation Sessions and Parish Cases The deadline for pastors to register for their Wave 3 Orientation Session was Friday, February 6, If you have not yet registered, please contact Lysle Kintanar, Administrative Assistant, in the campaign office at x804 or lkintanar@archtoronto.org. Please note, the Thursday, February 26 th session is now at capacity. In early January, pastors were also mailed information about the preparation of parish case statements. The deadline for submitting your parish case worksheet to John Ecker, Director of Campaign Communications, is today, Tuesday, February 10 th. You can reach John at x805 if you have questions. Timely submission of all required materials will help ensure materials are ready at the start of your parish campaign. Page 1 of 5

2 Wave 1 and 2 Pastors Please remember that plans for use of the parish share of campaign proceeds were reviewed and approved by the Regional Bishop. When parishes reach or surpass their goals, some pastors may wish to add additional new uses for campaign proceeds. If that is the case in your parish, please contact John Ecker, Director of Campaign Communications to ensure your new plans are reviewed and approved before you announce plans in your parish. Wave 1 & Pilot Phase Pastors If you have sizeable quantities of campaign materials still on hand following your parish campaign, please advise your Parish Campaign Director or contact Lysle Kintanar at lkintanar@archtoronto.org or x804. Important: Donations or payments for campaigns in Wave 1 are still being received in some parishes. Please ensure the parish office uses the provided 9x12 pre-addressed envelopes and the three-part record of subscription forms. If you need more envelopes or forms, please contact Lysle. Wave 2 Campaign Highlights St. Vincent de Paul, : Fr. Utrecht was happy to have raised an additional $30,000 from his Commitment Weekend. St. Agnes Kouying Tsao, Markham: Fr. Chong was very happy to have raised an additional $500,000 at his Commitment Weekend. The parish is excited to have now exceeded $2 million or an astounding 425 their $490,000 goal. St. Patrick s, Markham: Fr. Barber is pleased to announce another week of raising over $100,000, and now surpassing the $1 million mark! He and his volunteer team are looking forward to continuing the visitation process and meeting with more parishioners to continue the momentum that they have been creating for the campaign. St. John the Evangelist, Caledon: Fr. Glynn and volunteers have been hard at work over the last few weeks meeting with parishioners and inviting their support. Their hard work paid off this week, as more than $50,000 was received and they have now surpassed $200,000! Our Lady of Guadalupe, : The parish is nearing the completion of its campaign. Despite the heavy snow, Father Miguel and volunteers hosted over 30 families at a parish wide orientation and continually have volunteers available at all Masses to answer any questions parishioners may have. Currently, they are at 69 their goal or $229,800. Everyone is looking forward to have a successful Commitment Weekend February 14 and 15. Blessed Trinity, Willowdale: Fr. Murphy and volunteers were happy to raise over $200,000 in a single week. They have raised $1.1 million on their $915,000 goal. St. Dunstan s, Scarborough: Father Masterson and campaign volunteers are happy to announce that the parish is over goal with only 25 gifts. They are thankful for the generosity of the donors, and look forward to much more success, with a month remaining in the campaign. Page 2 of 5

3 St Cecilia's, : Last week, Fr. Tran and volunteers raised an additional $65,000 and have now raised $273,000 or 176 their goal. St. Lawrence Martyr, Scarborough: The parish exceeded its $360,000 goal this week, with $365,820 raised to date. In a collective effort, Father Roy Farrell, Father Steven Szakaczki, and Father Pietro Gennuso worked to visit the majority of the Major and Advance Phase families. A committed group of volunteers assisted the priests with Advance Phase visits, and have been making phone calls to Special Phase families. It has been an admirable team effort, and the group looks forward to closing the campaign, with Commitment Weekend scheduled for February 14 and 15. St. Andrew Parish, Etobicoke: Every week, St. Andrew Parish has been able to increase their number of volunteers in the campaign. Currently, they have over 20 volunteers. This has had a direct impact on the growing success of the parish campaign.
