1 BROCKINGTON COLLEGE Uniform Policy Brockington College, a Church of England Academy, has at its heart a distinctive Christian ethos. 2 Dressing for College The governors policy on college uniform must be followed by all students ITEM FOR NOTES UNIFORM SUPPLIER Navy blue polo shirt with college All Compulsory logo Navy blue sweatshirt with college logo Black trousers from agreed retailers and in agreed styles Black skirt from agreed retailers and in agreed styles Footwear Suitable for a working environment. We recommend that canvas shoes or similar are not suitable for school. All Compulsory All Compulsory Girls Compulsory All MUST be ALL black, small heeled or flat. MUST NOT have any colouring on shoes/laces/stitching. NO BOOTS Hairstyle All Hairstyles should be suitable for school. Make-up All Year 7 and Year 8: No make-up or nail varnish. Year 9 and above: Natural toned foundation or concealer and a light application of mascara ONLY Jewellery One small gold/silver stud per ear lobe and a watch ONLY. All No hoop ear rings, necklaces or rings. No bracelets. No facial or other body piercings, including tongue studs. Jewellery will be removed and confiscated, with collection by parent/carer required. Alternatively, the supplier will be visiting the college on: Monday 11 July 2016 (Year 6 Welcome Day/Evening) 2.30 pm 9.00 pm Wednesday 27 July 2016 (6.00 pm 8.00 pm) Wednesday 10 August 2016 (6.00 pm 8.00 pm) On these dates you will be able to view the uniform and bring along your child to try on uniform. You will also be able to collect any uniform ordered previously. After Wednesday 10 August 2016, ordered uniform will be delivered to the home address by the supplier. Dressing for College June 2016

3 Physical Education Uniform The following items are part of the college uniform and are compulsory for all pupils unless indicated below:- GIRLS BOYS UNIFORM SUPPLIER Grey Sweatshirt Brockington Rugby Shirt With Brockington PE red insignia. Reversible red and red/black shirt. Compulsory for all girls. Compulsory for all boys. Polo Shirt White with college logo. Plain Red Shorts - Years 7-9 No branded names. Compulsory for Years 7-9. Black Tracksuit Bottoms - Years Allowed for Years only, but red shorts can be worn if preferred. Hockey Socks Red No branded names. Gum Shield Sports Socks White ankle socks. Shin Pads Trainers (indoors) Not fashion/leisure or black trainers Football boots optional Must have plastic studs or blades for use on the artificial pitch. Polo Shirt White with college logo. For outdoor games in the winter, a plain black track suit/jogging suit may be worn. Hats and gloves can be worn in very cold weather, at the discretion of the PE teacher. If for any reason your child does not have their kit or has a medical note explaining that they are unable to take part in the lesson, we are unable to make alternative provision. Our policy is similar to most secondary schools in that pupils who are not able to do PE are expected to join the PE group listening to the theory aspects and helping with duties as instructed by the teacher. This is also the same policy for outdoor lessons. It is therefore important that they have a coat and warm clothing to observe the lesson if they are outdoors. If your child has a medical reason for not participating practically in a PE lesson, could you please supply a note to their PE teacher, through your child, on the day of their PE lesson. If your child has a medical condition that is likely to last for several weeks, please contact your child s PE teacher to explore arrangements that can be made in such exceptional circumstances.
