1 20th il Issue 6 PRINCIPAL S MESSAGE Welcome back to all of our families this term. Hope you all had a happy and safe Easter break. As I have spent time in all classrooms this week, I wish to commend all children on their excellent behaviour and the positive manner in which they have returned to FHPS. I m sure the children will keep up this wonderful start to the term. FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT We have an exciting term ahead with many school events, special programs and days planned for our students to enjoy. Tomorrow night we are holding a Family Movie Night. This will be our first family event for the year and we look forward to seeing our families attend to watch The Secret Life of Pets. Tickets available via the school office $20 per family. YELLOW LANTERN This week our Senior School students began the Yellow Lantern Program. This is a public speaking program that enhances positive self talk, empowered speech and celebrates personality. Students will attend 8 sessions which includes a special presentation night with their parents on Tuesday 13th June. HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY Tomorrow year 3 to 6 students will be involved in House Cross Country. We look forward to all students participating and giving their best effort. This is a respectful assembly that I encourage our parents to attend and share with us. Anzac Badges, wrist bands and bag tags are available for sale with prices ranging from $2- $5. STAFFING Mrs Clark will be on leave until Friday 12th May. Over the next four weeks, I will be Acting Principal, and both Mr Long and Mrs Robinson will be Acting Assistant Principal. Mrs Tegan Long, with many years of teaching experience, will be replacing both 56L and 34R throughout the duration. We look forward to hearing about Mrs Clark s trip to China when she gets back. 2 CADBURY FUNDRAISING BOXES MONEY DUE: TOMORROW FRIDAY 21ST APRIL Frankston Heights Primary School are proposing to run a Shopping Tour on Saturday 21st October, The cost for this will depend on how many people attend eg attending will cost $33 per person. We need expressions of interest and payment of a non-refundable $10 deposit from parents to see if this will be viable. Deposit will be refunded if the tour does not go ahead. Please return the forms which have been sent home to families or see Krystal in the school office by Friday 21st il to express your interest.

We listen closely to the children s thoughts and interests, and encourage them to participate in shared planning.
