ARCHBISHOP MAR GREGORIOS AWARD 2017, INSTUTED BY AMICOS: Archbishop Mar Gregorios Award, instituted by AMICOS annually has been presented to Padmasree M. A. Yusuf Ali, Chairman & Managing Director, Lulu Group by His Beatitude Cardinal Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, Major Archbishop of Trivandrum and Chief Patron, AMICOS in an auspicious function held on 2nd January The award comprised a memento, citation and Rs. 50,001. The function was blessed by the gracious presence of H.E Most Rev. Dr. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom, H.E Most Rev. Dr. Joshua Mar Ignatios, H.E Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thomas, H.E Most Rev. Dr. Jacob Mar Barnabas, H.E Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Mar Irenios, H.E Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Stephanos, Hon. Minister Sri. Kadakampally Surendran, Principal Rev. Dr. Gigi Thomas, AMICOS Vice-Presidents Cine actor Sri. Jagadeesh Kumar and Sri. E. M. Najeeb, Rev. Fathers, Rev. Sisters and former students of the College. During the function, Padmasree M. A. Yusuf Ali has contributed Rs. One Crore towards the AMICOS project for the construction of Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Panicker International Research Centre.

3 2. ARCHBISHOP MAR GREGORIOS AWARD 2016: Archbishop Mar Gregorios Award, instituted by AMICOS annually has been presented to Shri. G. Vijayaraghavan, Member, Planning Board, Former CEO of Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram and founder NISH (National Institute of Speech and Hearing) by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, Father and Head of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church in a ceremonial function held on 17 th March AMICOS President, Shri. Jayakumar IAS, Former Chief- Secretary of Kerala presided over the meeting.

5 During this function, Dr. K. L. Anandavally, Vice-Principal, Mar Ivanios College; Dr. K. S. Mathew, Controller of Examinations, Mar Ivanios College & Associate Professor of Physics; Dr. James Alexander, HOD of Mathematics; Dr. Varghese Abraham, Associate Professor of Mathematics; Dr. Biji James, HOD of Commerce; Dr. Jadu Samuel, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Shri. V. T Thomas, Sr. Supdt. who were retiring from service in March 2016 were honoured.

6 Shri. Sajan Scaria (former student of our college) recipient of the Oscar award 2016 for the best animated feature film "Inside Out" was felicitated. His father and former Professor of our College, Prof. K. Scaria received the memento.

7 Shri. M. R. Rajakrishnan (former student of our college and son of Shri. M. G. Radhakrishnan) recipient of Kerala State Film award 2016 for best sound mixing was felicitated.

8 PG Department of Chemistry Golden Jubilee celebrations and Get together of the former students of the Department: The PG Department of Chemistry Golden Jubilee celebrations and Get together of the former students were held from 9 th to 11 th March As part of the Golden Jubilee celebration a National Seminar on Advanced Analytical Techniques sponsored by the UGC was conducted. His Excellency Most. Rev. Dr. Samuel Mar Irenios, Auxiliary Bishop, Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum inaugurated the celebrations. Dr. Alexander Jacob IPS, former DGP of Kerala and alumnus of the Department delivered the key note address. Former Professors of the Department were honoured during the function. Rank holders were also felicitated.

10 AMICOS GET TOGETHER on 14 th January 2016: A get together of the faculty members (former and present) and alumni of our college was organized by the AMICOS in the College auditorium at 5:30 pm on Thursday, 14th January During this function, His Beatitude Cardinal Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, Patron & Manager of the College was honoured for being elected as the President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI). Our former student, Shri. Palode Ravi was felicitated for being elected as the Deputy Speaker, Kerala Legislative Assembly. His Excellency Most Rev, Dr. Joshua Mar Ignatios, Shri. K. Muraleedharan MLA, Shri. K. Jayakumar IAS (President, AMICOS & Former Chief Secretary of Kerala), Shri. John Mathai IAS (Alumnus and former Chief Secretary of Kerala, Dr. Alexander Jacob IPS (Alumnus & Former DGP of kerala), Sri. E. M. Najeeb (Alumnus & Managing Director, Air Travel Enterprises Ltd.) and many other former students and faculty members were present during the function. Alumni who have studied in the College between were felicitated during the function.
