2 OUR VISION The bygone twelve years have been an outstanding witness to its glorious history and this nascent entity since 2006 has been setting benchmarks in the fields of academics, sports and various co-curricular activities. With its noteworthy mushrooming staff and students, the all round development of the students has become more challenging as well as interesting. The paramount importance has always been given to carving out good and honourable human beings exuding immaculate moral values and therefore worthy citizens of our nation. The primary and noble objective of AEES in providing quality education to the children belonging to the different strata of our society staying in and around the vicinity of various AEC schools has always steered us through. Besides, the pursuit of excellence has always been a motivating factor. The entire school fraternity seeks to achieve higher goals par excellence in the near future. 1. INTRODUCTION Since its inception on 3 rd July, 2006, Atomic Energy Central School, Turamdih has witnessed a roller-coaster ride. The strength of both the students (Primary including KG and Secondary) and the staff have risen to 853 and 36 respectively. The relentless efforts to uphold the academic qualitative index and meticulously adhering to the various goals of excellence set by CBSE are really commendable. AECS - TURAMDIH Page 1

CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT Our school garden with its wide range of seasonal flowers and perennial plants abounding with natural beauty exudes aesthetic charm and positive energy in all directions.the entire teaching learning process in turn becomes more effective and inspiring. Besides this, the much awaited construction and inauguration of the school playground has been completed and all the important functions of the school are organised here. Adding to its glory, a smooth cricket pitch has also been made. Accentuating the all round development of the students, a multi-purpose building has also been constructed above the old one and has been inaugurated by Dr. A. K. Sarangi, ED (Projects, North) UCIL, Jaduguda. Last but not the least, an additional volley ball court has also been finalised for construction. AECS - TURAMDIH Page 2

4 3. RTE / SEEP The Talent Nurture Programme started in the year with six students. The current strength of students stands at 738 with 65 students under RTE and 47 students under SEEP. The total strength of the staff is 36 which includes 31 Teachers and 5 Non-Teaching staff. 4. ACHIEVEMENTS ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE The 6 th batch of Standard X of this school has appeared in the CBSE Examination in the session Following are our CBSE Class X Toppers ( ) whose performances deserve special mention, appreciation and encouragement for climbing up the first stair of the ladder of success. 6 We feel immensely happy to share that out of around 50 participating students from Class VI to X, 20 students of our school from classes VI, VIII, IX and X were awarded with the merit certificate for scoring above 50%. 05. EVENTS/CELEBRATIONS Celebrations of various days to mark important events have always found a special place in our school. These days witness an array of various activities ensuring maximum participation of the students. So, let us have a look at the following :- 1). 15 th August Independence Day is an Annual Observance celebrated every year on 15 th of August. This year we celebrated its 71 st Independence Day to pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters who had contributed a lot and fought for the Independence of our country. 2). 5 th September was celebrated as Teacher s Day. Small Programme was arranged by the students after the Assembly, they kept some games for the teachers, which everyone enjoyed. AECS - TURAMDIH Page 5

7 3). From 14 th September to 21 st September 2017 Hindi Pakhwada was celebrated. All the teachers, students and Principal honoured Hindi Language by communicating through Hindi. Various programmes were organised by the Hindi Committee for the students and teachers like Hindi Poetry, Speech, Quiz etc. during the Assembly. Winners were awarded prizes on Childrens Day. 4). Swach Bharat Abhiyaan Campaign was organised 18 th Oct. in our school. It is a campaign which aims at cleanliness. All the students of secondary section were allotted different wings in the school campus and were asked to clean the campus. Primary section students cleaned their classrooms and learned about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in ones life. 5). On 20 th October Sadbhavana Diwas was celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. AECS - TURAMDIH Page 6

8 The message of this day is to have good feelings for others to encourage the national integration, peace, love effection and communal harmony among all the people within the country. Sadbhavana Day pledge was taken in the Assembly by all the students and staff members. 6). To Promote Tourism the Govt. Started Paryatan Parv from this year which was observed from 5 th to 25 th Oct Various competitions and activities were organised like Slogan writing, Essay Writing for the students, which gave the students a chance to show their literary skill. The prize winners will be felicitated during the CCA Day celebration. 7). On 31 st October 2017, National Unity Day was observed to pay tribute to the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who played an instrumental role in keeping the entire nation united by integrating over 550 princely states into India from by Independence Act (1947) during his tenure as the Honourable Home Minister of India. Noteworthily, students actively participated in a rally around the colony led by the teachers and Esteemed Vice-Principal displaying their placards with numerous slogans and pictures upholding the spirit of national unity. 9 8). Vigilance Awareness Week was observed in our school from 30 th Oct. To 4 th Nov This year the theme was given by Govt. Of India My Vision Corruption Free India. The observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week stated with the Integrity Pledge by all the teachers and other staff members. According to Govt Instruction, teachers took Pledge Online and the Certificate was sent to AEES, Mumbai. Slogan Making, Elocution were conducted in different categories. 9). On 14 th November 2017, Children s Day was celebrated. Assembly activities were conducted with special speeches honouring our Late Honourable Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru followed by a cultural activities by the students. 10). This was followed by the celebration of Communal Harmony Week from 19 th November to 25 th November, 2017 and the observance of Flag Day on 25 th November. An amount of Rs. 6579/- was collected and deposited to NFCH (National Foundation for Communal Harmony). The fund was raised to spread the message of communal and national integration amongst the students. AECS - TURAMDIH Page 8

10 11). The year ended with the celebration of Constitution Day on 26 th November, Our Honourable Principal Shri A.K. Singh led the pledge taking ceremony in the school premises by reading the Preamble to the Constitution. We all are a part of the one great nation India and reading out the Preamble instilled a sense of pride, honour and patriotism among the students. ORIENTATION / TRAINING OF TEACHERS: Mr. R C Tandi and Mrs. P J Lakra attended two days Teachers Training Programme which was held on 13 th 14 th Nov 2017 at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata. Teacher s Training Camp of Vigyan Pratibha Programme held on Nov 2017 at Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata. AECS - TURAMDIH Page 9
