Mobile Phone/Device Policy While we recognise that mobile phones/devices may be perceived by some parents and carers as important to improve the security and safety of their children, the following policy and procedures has this understanding in mind while also being directed by Department of Education policy. In general, students are discouraged from bringing mobile phones/devices to school. Students who need to have a mobile phone/device must hand his/her phone/device in at the school office as soon as they arrive at school each day. It is the responsibility of the student to collect the phone/device at the conclusion of each school day. Mobile phones/devices are not to be used unsupervised whilst on school grounds. If a student needs to contact a parent/carer in the afternoon, a call is able to be made in the school office foyer when the phone is collected at 3.15pm. The school will accept no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged mobile phones/devices or for costs incurred while the phone/device is on school premises. Any urgent need by a parent/carer to contact their child during the day should be met by calling the school office on (02) Your cooperation in following these guidelines is greatly appreciated. Starlight Foundation Fundraiser A student from Oakville Public School is currently raising money for an extremely worthwhile charity, the Starlight Foundation. Jack s fundraising is certainly well underway and is hoping to raise beyond $5,000 by swimming 60 kilometres in 30 days. To read more about Jack s fundraising efforts, please visit the link below.
