In our last newsletter edition for the year we would like to congratulate all members of our school community on another very successful year. We have all worked tirelessly to bring many events, activities and programs to our school which will leave us and the students with many special memories of Gulfview Heights in A special mention must go out to all staff and parent helpers/volunteers who have supported students with some fantastic learning experiences throughout the year. Over 70 volunteers were acknowledged at our STEM Opening and Volunteer lunch on Tuesday 20th November. This was an opportunity for staff and students to express their gratitude and personally thank them for all their hard work throughout the year. Congratulations to the following volunteers who were the recipients of our Volunteer Awards for 2018: Kaye Davenport - (Governing Council Award for Years of Service) Kaye Davenport- (Governing Council Outstanding Contribution Award) Lee Miles- (Blair Boyer Volunteer Of The Year Award) We look forward to your continued support in Whilst each year presents us with many new Issue 19 and exciting challenges, we have thoroughly enjoyed the year and take enormous pride in our achievements and the work of all staff, students and volunteers. Together we have seen many new initiatives and programs which reaffirm our standing as a GREAT local community school. This is evident by our student results and achievements in all areas, and many new families now enrolling their children at Gulfview Heights Primary School as a school of their choice. I encourage you to attend our Annual General Meeting early next year on Monday 11th February to hear about our improvements and achievements in In particular, we would like to highlight the strengthening partnership we have with our Governing Council and thank them enormously for their work and support throughout the year. Wishing you all a safe, enjoyable and restful festive season.

3 Absent: Kristian, Grace, Dan, Cailin This year our school once again took part in the Brightpath program which saw teachers assessing student writing using a software program called Brightpath. At the completion of this program a collection of student persuasive writing samples were sent into the Department for Education where a selection panel chose work to display in the Education Development Centre (EDC) in Hindmarsh. The following students had their writing samples chosen for display: Kristian, Gia, Grace, Millie, Dan, Oliver, Cailin, Ava, Zuri, Joshua & Sarah. As part of this they were invited to do a video recording of their written narrative, attend an exhibition opening and they all received recognition certificates from Susan Cameron, Department for Education Executive Director Learning Improvement and Rick Persse, Department for Education Chief Executive. Joshua Rayment also had the opportunity to read his written work out to the audience on the night. We would like to extend a big congratulations to the students on their outstanding effort - we are all very proud of you! Miss Dani Senior Leader (Early Years & Literacy) My11 Monstera Leaf Art Work
