Miss Hart recently has had a family friend pass away and more recently, she has lost her grandfather. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Caitlin. Excess furniture was also removed from the convent. Thanks Mick O Donoghue, Brett and Heather Darrington and Lyn. Your assistance was really appreciated. Swimmers I d like to wish our swimmers the best of luck when they compete in the Deanery Swimming carnival this Friday. Best of luck boys and girls. Sign In Book All people visiting the school are required to sign in and out of the Visitors Book at the front desk. We wish the girls the best of luck. Deanery Swimming Carnival This Friday 24 students from St. Joseph s will compete at the Deanery Swimming Carnival which is being held at Lake Talbot. 4 To parents/guardians It's 2019 and it is good to be back! My position here at St Joseph s is the Aboriginal School and Community Worker. My role within this school is to help enrich Aboriginal cultural knowledge within and beyond the school community. I will engage in opportunities which support the Aboriginal students, their families and community. I will also be assisting in creating more communication with Aboriginal families and forming relationships with local Aboriginal organisation and Elders. My duties also include: Organising professional development opportunities for staff which builds their cultural understanding Help and encourage staff to implement the Australian crosscurriculum priority of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content and focus within their programming Develop reconciliation initiatives and promoting these in the local community Forwarding information about new resources, events and activities to students, families and staff Promote the use of Aboriginal guest speakers or programs who are able to enrich the curriculum Assisting with excursions that involve Aboriginal culture and history Involvement in school transition opportunities. If you need any help, want to talk, or have an idea you would like to express please do not hesitate to come and see me. I look forward to working with you all. 8 BASKETBALL Junior Basketball To commence this week Narrandera Junior basketball will commence this week. If you haven t already registered your child could you please do so. Boys will play on Wednesday Times will be; Junior boys Yrs pm Intermediate boys Yrs 5.30pm Senior boys Yrs pm & 7.30pm I will post teams on FB for senior boys. However if you want to play senior boys and don t see your name in a team please turn up at 6.30pm.
