2 General Instructions to All Students 1. Attendance is compulsory. Roll-call will be taken at 8: 15 am and Lunch roll-call will be taken at 1:30 pm. 2. Be punctual. 3. On arrival, take the roll-call and proceed to your own house stand and sit down. 4. Listen carefully to all announcements made over the public address system and carry out instructions promptly. 5. Only the competitors of the events and student officials are allowed to stay in the track and field area. All other pupils must remain in their house stand. 6. Cheer your house but be silent for announcement and at the start of every event. 7. Take good care of your clothing and belongings, and respect the premises where we are guests. 8. No chewing gum and do not litter. 9. Do not bring items such as personal Hi- Fi equipment (eg.: MP3 players), playing cards, magazines and portable game machines (e.g. PSP) etc. 10. Good behavior and co-operation are essential to the success of the meet. We shall be in the public eye. Instruction to All Competitors 1. All competitors should wear their PE uniform. 2. All competitors should warm-up thoroughly before taking part in any event. 3. All competitors are not allowed to compete bare foot. 4. Only competitors for the events announced may enter the track and field areas. They should return to the Spectator Stands immediately after the events they compete are over. 5. Track event competitors should report to the Marshalling area and Field event competitors should report direct to competition area with his or her Student s ID Card or Handbook. 6. Field competitors who require leaves to take part in a track event should ask permission from the Field Judges before leaving the spots. They should report to their respective Field Judges immediately after such track event is over. 7. No competitor should attempt any trial jumping or throwing unless his/her name or number has been called by the Judges. 8. No one should cross the Track when a race is in progress. 9. Only 7 mm blunt spikes or rubber shoes are allowed on the track. Competitors wearing shoes with inappropriate spikes will be refused from entering the track. Instruction to All Student Helpers 1. All student helpers should report to Mr. LUI and Ms. YU(PE teacher) and collect their equipment after their roll- call. 2. All student helpers should wear a name sticker and take their duties. Instruction to All Teachers 1. Teachers should strictly enforce the rules of the games. 2. Teachers should always observe the physical condition of competitors and stop their activities if necessary. 3. In throwing events, all throws and retrieval of objectives should only be made on a given signal from the official. 4. All equipment should be checked before use. 2
