3 SLS Catholic Schools Week 2019 Light of the World Sunday (1/27) "Celebrate your parish" Students, please wear your uniforms to Mass. SLS families are invited to a pancake breakfast in the dining hall (9am-12pm) hosted by the Men s Club! Monday (1/28) "Celebrate your community" Catholic Schools Week Kickoff Rally at 2:00pm in they gym (praise and worship music led by KEVIN & BETHANY PAIGE, guest speaker- Billy Bernard) Parents are welcome to attend the rally! Students can send an item for Dorothy Day House to wear jeans and SLS apparel. (needed items will be listed in the Wednesday Wire) Tuesday (1/29) "Celebrate your students" Catholic Trivia for students in grades 1-6 (during school hours) Wednesday (1/30) "Celebrate the Nation" Veterans (who are family members of our students) are invited to eat lunch with our students (RSVP at celebrate ) Thursday (1/31/) "Celebrate Vocations Our priests and religious are invited to dine with us! Friday (2/1) "Celebrate our Volunteers" Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers!! Saturday (2/2) Celebrating Family Plan a fun activity for your family today!

4 SLS Grandparents/ Special Friends Day 2019 Thursday (1/31) 5 th -8 th grade Grandparents/ Special Friends Day Schedule: 8:15am Mass 9:00am Students return to class (visitors should meet their students in the classroom; be sure to tell your visitors the name of your child s teacher ahead of time.) 9:15am Students and grandparents/ special friends may play BINGO in the dining hall and visit the Book Fair in the JPII Youth Ministry Center 10:15am Classes resume Friday (2/1) 1 st - 4 th grade Grandparents/ Special Friends Day Schedule: 8:15am Mass 9:15am Program in the gym 10:15am grandparents/ special friends may visit students classrooms and the Book Fair in the JPII (visitors should meet their students in the classroom; be sure to tell your visitors the name of your child s teacher ahead of time.) 11:30am dismissal (1/2 day) Parents, please send a note to your child s homeroom teacher if grandparents plan to leave before 11:30am; teachers will have sign-out sheets in their classrooms.

10 Virtus Opt- OUT Form January 16, 2019 St. Louis Catholic School will present a sexual abuse prevention program, The Touching Safety Program, to our students in February/March. The creators of the Protecting God s Children program developed The Touching Safety Program. This program is provided to us by the Diocese of Memphis, and is part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for children and to protect all children from sexual abuse. The lessons are being offered on scheduled dates in February through March to all students in grades K-8 at St. Louis Catholic School. As a parent, you have the right to choose whether your student participates. 14 The Kids Heart Challenge has been great in PE! We have had dancing, jump rope, and basketball! This week is full of contests! Fundraiser envelopes and online donations are due next week. January 31 will be our last event day. Thank you to everyone for helping the American Heart Association!
