Staff have been busy preparing classrooms for the event. Thank you to our parents for supporting your child/ren s learning on this night. Enjoy seeing what your children have been doing at school END OF TERM Have a wonderful break everyone. There are many parents who have assisted with various programs throughout the school. Without your assistance, we would be unable to run many of our activities. Have a well-deserved, safe and restful holiday break. REMINDER FIRST DAY OF TERM 4 FOR STUDENTS IS TUESDAY, 9 TH October, 2018 Voluntary contributions can be paid in the front office Payments for school contributions are $60 for each student. 3 VIRTUE MEGA DRAW WINNERS FOR THE SAMSON PS VIRTUES PROGRAM A huge thankyou to everyone who came to our Athletics Carnival to help either with setting up, providing food, participating in the races or supporting our students. We were so lucky with the weather which put everyone in good spirits for the day. Our new schedule of events ran smoothly, with students being occupied for a large majority of the time. Congratulations to Dampier students who did a fantastic job throughout the day and were are Barry Hodges Shield Winners. Stirling students also did a great job with their participation and winners in the Cross Country event. Our Virtue for term 4 is Honesty. Students receive 1 point for their faction as well as being in the running to win a prize from Virtue Mega Draw. Next term, in week 6 and 8 the Virtue Mega Draw will be drawn at Assembly. Flinders who were well behaved and showed great sportsmanship throughout the day took out the Behaviour Shield.

5 Year 4-6 Photography Challenge This year's photography challenge was extremely successful, with 71 entries being submitted. Students were invited to take photographs depicting Shadows and Reflections. It was great to see students committing their own time to develop their skills for using photography as an art form and many wonderful photos were taken. All entries will be printed, mounted and displayed in the Art Room for Open Night. Congratulations to Aleisha, Zoe and Ginger who received awards for the Photography Challenge at the last assembly. Certificates of participation and prizes will be awarded to all of our students who participate. The purpose of this event is to encourage the children to have fun and work with their friends to put together a skit, sing a song, create a dance routine, play an instrument etc.

Book Fair 2018 Is Here!! Our Book Fair is a wonderful reading celebration giving your family the perfect opportunity to select books together.

6 Book Fair 2018 Is Here!! Our Book Fair is a wonderful reading celebration giving your family the perfect opportunity to select books together. Plus, your support of this fundraiser provides valuable learning resources for our Library. There is a colouring competition and a raffle draw. For every $10.00 purchase the child will receive a raffle ticket to go into the draw to win a prize. Entries for the colouring competition will close on Wednesday 19 th September. I hope you can join us at our Book Fair to help celebrate reading with our students and the school community. Jo De Buelle and Bev Bennett Little Impressions Print Exhibition As part of the Awesome Arts Festival for Children, students in WA have been invited to prepare artworks for the Little Impressions Print Exhibition. Along with work from other schools, our prints will be on display on the big screen in the Perth Cultural Centre. The next P & C meeting is Term 4 Monday 26th November 7pm in the staffroom. Thanks to those who came along to the P and C meeting on Monday night, it was great to see some new members and thank some outgoing members. We thank Nikki Rooke (outgoing President) and Dee Henderson (outgoing treasurer) for their work for the P and C this year and in previous years. We also thank Claire Smith for taking on the President role and Amie Di Tulio for stepping in as Vice President. We welcome Alina Bailey as our new treasurer and Kate Barfield as assistant treasurer. Thank you to everyone who supported the P and C making or buying cakes, books, lemonade and lunches. Spooky Disco 2018 Sadly, the current fundraising committee members are unable to organise the Spooky disco this year, this is usually held at the end of October. We ask that anyone who is interested in organising this event please contact the P and C via samsonpandc@gmail.com Detailed written guidelines and suggested procedures can be provided to assist in anyone keen to run the disco. P and C members are also available to give guidance. All items for display on for the school s notice boards need to be handed to the office, and staff will place them on the board. Note the board is cleared every month.
