1 Newsletter TERM 4 WEEK 2 21 October 2014 From the Leadership Team Dear Parents and Caregivers, Dear Parents and Caregivers, Welcome to Week 2 and to what promises to be an action-packed week once again! Missionaries of the Sacred Heart 100 years in Flinders Park/Hindmarsh and Henley Parishes. This coming weekend, on Sunday 26 th October, there will be a Centenary Celebration Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Hindmarsh, to honour and give thanks for the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart who have ministered so faithfully and generously here in our part of the world over the last 100 years. In a particular way, we give thanks to God for the ministry of our present Parish Priests, and we celebrate with them the achievements of the past 100 years. Here at St. Joseph s, we greatly appreciate the presence and ministry currently of Fr. Bill and Fr. Mark, we acknowledge the wonderful years of ministry among us of Fr. Frank and Fr. Noel, and we continue to appreciate our close links with Frs. Paul, John and Carroll in nearby Henley Beach parish. As a community, all of these priests continue to journey with us, to pray with and for us, to heal us and to celebrate many important milestones in our Christian journey. We hope that many of our families within the parish may be able to come along on Sunday to this special Mass of Thanksgiving at a.m. Vinnies Appeal: Our Mini Vinnies group is hoping for a great response to the clothing appeal for Vinnies. If you have any good second hand clothing at home that is no longer required, could you please bring it along to school and deposit it in the clothing wheelie bins provided around the school. We will arrange for a collection of the buns by the end of week 4, and we thank you in anticipation of your support. Family Mass: Our final Family Mass for this year will be held on Sunday, 9 th November, at 9.00 a.m. in our School Hall. Fr. Bill will again celebrate this special Mass with us and we hope to see a good gathering of the community. It would be wonderful if many of the families involved in the sacramental preparation process over the last couple of years could come along to join in this important celebration. We look forward to seeing you during the week.
