We would like to thank Miss Shelley and Scott for their time spent setting up the beautiful new space for our students to enjoy. Please consider our neighbours We politely request that parents do not wait outside studios 1 & 3, as the noise is both disruptive to the students and other surrounding businesses. If you need to stay, we ask that you wait on the ground floor or take some time out at one of the surrounding coffee shops or better yet enjoy the salt air at Rose Bay Beach Newsletter August 2018 FREE HIP HOP CLASSES 3 FREE TRIAL HIP HOP CLASSES are being offered to all students and friends of The Ballet Class on the following dates: Monday 6 th August Monday 13 th August Monday 20 th August Hip Hop Junior pm (6-9 yrs) Hip Hop Inter pm (10-12 yrs) These classes will be taken by our new teacher Miss Sarah at: Tap Pups studio 60 Wairoa Ave, Bondi Beach Please register your interest with our office Vocational Exam Results Congratulations to our vocational students who sat their exams last term. Fantastic results: 5 Distinctions and 6 Merits The average mark for this session was 75. The girls worked very hard and we are thrilled the girls achieved so well. We are very proud of you! Silver Swans Performance The Ballet Class are honoured to have been invited to present our Silver Swans in a demonstration performance at Darling Harbour on Sat 29 th September We invite you all to come and support our gorgeous Swans in their inaugural performance. REMINDER: Intensive Ballet Syllabus Workshops at: The Church, 518 Old South Head Road, Rose Bay Intensive Grade 1-5 Syllabus classes - $65 per 3 hr class. We will be covering the entire syllabus in these sessions to prepare for the upcoming Examinations NEW DATES Released: Grade 1 Sunday 19 th August Grade 2 Sunday 19 th August Grade 3 Sunday 19 th August Grade 4 Sunday 5 th August & Sunday 9 th September pm Grade 5 Sunday 5 th August & Sunday 26 th August pm

2 Our End of Year Performance is Sunday 2 nd December. Save the date! Timetable Changes in Term 4 A polite reminder that as usual there will be changes to the timetable in Term 4 This is necessary to accommodate the End of Year Performance rehearsals. NB: All fees for each student in Term 4 will remain the same as those paid in Term 3 Private Lessons Leading up to Examinations There will be a number of private lessons available during Term 3, leading up to the classical examinations. Please inform the office if you would like to book a time All Private Lessons must be paid in advance upon booking Annual Demonstration Evening Saturday 15 th September 2018 from 5pm at The Church Everyone is invited to watch our showcase of all the styles of dance which we offer. Invitations to perform will be sent out to students during Term 3. Performing students are to arrive at 4.30pm. CHOREOGRAPHIC COMPETITION During the Demonstration Evening we will be running a choreographic competition Students may enter as a solo or within a group $10 per entry Winner takes all!!! All dances should be no longer than 3 minutes, 2018 END OF YEAR PERFORMANCE COPPELIA SUNDAY 2 ND DECEMBER Coppelia Ballet Performance 1.30pm Senior Performance 5pm (includes all genres) Casting lists have now been set. Teachers spend a great deal of time extensively discussing all roles and they especially look forward to working with Grade 3 as the main characters in this year s production of Coppelia. Some main characters with large amounts of mime will be starting rehearsals during Term 3, details of which have been sent individually via . If you are not involved in these lessons, this is because the Term 4 rehearsals will provide ample time to learn your part. All students have been allocated a part and costume. Please let us know if you do not wish to participate as preparations are already well underway. Please Do Not Disturb Teachers Between Classes Class time is limited and we wish to maximise this time for learning. Please use alternative means to seek clarification or ask questions.

We are also on Facebook as The Ballet Class Rose Bay Silver Swans The Ballet Class has introduced Silver Swans to the timetable this term. Silver Swans is an RAD Ballet Program specifically designed for parents and grandparents. These classes will help improve your mobility, posture, co-ordination and energy levels. No previous dance experience required. Wednesday pm Rose Bay Beach Studio Thursday 11.00am-12.00pm The Church NEW: Beginners class Friday The Church - Commencing Week 5 Term 3 - We are offering a free trial in Week 5 of Tem 3 for this class only, after which the classes will be $25 each. All Silver Swans classes are taught by Miss Christine and/or Miss Shelley SYLLABUS MUSIC For $10 - Mr Philip can put Syllabus music on a CD for practice at home If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please give your class teacher a clearly labelled envelope with your money enclosed Free Classes YAY!!! Take advantage of the free classes we offer: Classical Grade students who attend 2 classical classes per week from Grade 2 upwards are invited to attend Character, Stretch and Pilates at no extra cost. Classical Grade Examination students who attend 2 syllabus classes per week from Primary to Grade 5 may attend as many other syllabus classes as they wish of the same level each week at no extra cost. Classical Grade 5 examination students who attend two syllabus classes per week may attend Intermediate Foundation classes at no extra cost. Classical Vocational Examination students who attend 3 syllabus classes per week may attend Character, Stretch and Pilates at no extra cost. Classical Vocational Examination students who attend 3 syllabus classes per week of their level may attend ass many other syllabus classes as they wish of the above level at no extra cost. TERM 3 FEES ARE NOW DUE 10% Discount on all fees paid before Monday 6 th August After this date all unpaid fees revert to the regular price When making a payment please use student s name in the reference box Payment Fee Structure Discount Period we offer a 10% discount on regular class fees if paid within the first 2 weeks of term (Excludes: Mums & Bubs, Pre School, Twinkle Toes and Angelina Ballerina classes, Eisteddfod Groups and Private Lessons). Regular Period - Week 3 fees revert back to the regular structure. Late Period Week 5 any outstanding fees incur a 10% late fee A reminder that one term notice is required if a student will not be continuing with their classes.
