3 Discover your hidden treasures January 28, 2016 Mrs. Scott says Hello All, As we move into next week of Catholic School s week, please check the calendar for events each day taking place. Wednesday, Feb. 3 is our Kid s Day with lunch being extended and off-campus if parents chose to do so. I enjoy this week, as it gives me more opportunity to reflect how very thankful and blessed I am to be a part of a Catholic school that hold so much tradition, pride, and excellence in student success. Also, this week, many of our students will be participating in the Mathletics Competition hosted by All Saints Catholic School. I wish our students the best of luck and look forward to posting their results next week. We are so lucky to have kids that take pride in wanting to compete and improve their academic skills at these local competitions. Ms. Wahlstrom says Hello Parents, This week, I want to give you an idea about PSIA, what it is and what you can do to help. Private School Interscholastic Association (or PSIA) is a nonprofit education organization that serves all private school students 1 st 8 th grade in Texas. There are 59 academic contests in Math, Science, Language Arts, Speech, Social Studies, and Fine Arts. This year, we have 141 entries, some students are entered in multiple contests, others competing in only one. Parents, you will receive a letter from your child s teacher, letting you know what competition your child has entered. Each school competing is required to have one work position (volunteer) for every 2.25 entries at their meet. For St. Pius, with 141 entries in our meet, we need at least 63 positions filed by volunteers. So as you can see, we will be in great need of volunteers without you, we would not be able to have a successful PSIA meet. I will have the SPX Volunteer Sign-up genius up and running next week. Please consider volunteering your time even if it is for one two-hour shift. Remember: volunteer sign-up genius for PSIA is coming soon. Lunch 11AM 1PM There will be carpool to pick up and drop off during lunch time for those 6:30-8:00 PM St. Pius Catholic School will host an Open House for New and Prospective families in the Parish Hall Thursday, Feb. 4 8:30 AM VOLUNTEERS DAY Volunteer Reception hosted by SPX Faculty and Staff Friday, Feb. 5 8:00 AM Mass to honor PRIESTS Students will make cards to be presented at Mass for our Priests.
