Gardening Cooking Club This week in the school garden we will be developing an Indigenous Garden with plants that aboriginals once used and also use now. This will go along with our permanent art work for this year- the aboriginal flag made from mosaics. 2 Grade 3/4 Earth Ed On the 16th October 2018 we had a visit from Trish for a Maths Session with Dash the Robot from Earth Ed. We did a robot driver test with Dash to get our robot drivers licence. We got to use IPad Pro s to program our robots. We had a lot of fun to see the robot go full speed. Some robots had a special name to represent a planet. It was so much fun! This Sunday is our School Working Bee, we would love for you to help us with completing some jobs around the school! Please let the Office know if you can make it! We will provide a BBQ lunch for those who can attend. Hope to see you there! Trivia Night money was due back last term. If you still require tickets we have a limited number still available, so get in quick! P&F will be meeting this Friday at 2pm in the Science Room. Everyone welcome to attend!

3 Senior Scoop Mrs Howard, Mr Craig, Mrs Scott, Mrs Black and Miss Dore Information and permission forms have gone home this week for our Bike Ed Program which will take place throughout next week. Please read, sign and return the mauve form to school by Thursday. Please make sure you discuss the expectations from the Behaviour Contract with your child so that they are fully aware of what will be expected from them. Bikes should be at school Friday for the safety inspections which will be carried out with the help of the Bunyip-Garfield Rotary Club members and any other parents who are able to help. If you have any questions please see any of the Senior School Staff. All grade 5 students will be attending a 'Say No to Bullying' day to be held at the Bunyip Auditorium this Thursday. It is being organised by the Bunyip-Garfield Rotary Club and will include Grade 5 Students from all neighbouring schools. This is the first day of its kind to be held in our area. I'm sure it will be a fantastic day. Middle Memos Mrs Smith, Miss Maxine and Mrs Rundle Only 5 more sleeps until we head off to Camp Waratah Beach. A few quick reminders: Bring snack and lunch in a small backpack that will be kept with you on the bus. MUST HAVE: a sleeping bag/doona, fitted sheet, pillow, long pants, raincoat, wide-brimmed hat, close-toe shoes. No electronics. Departing school at 9am Monday 22nd October. We will return at approximately 3pm on Wednesday 24th. Free dress suitable for adventure activities. Prep Mrs Guy, Mrs Leatham and Mrs Robinson This week in our rooms we are learning about the long 'a' sound as in tray, nail and bake. In Maths we are looking at chance, 1/2 and what holds more. Myuna Farm excursion is now very close - 24th of October. Please return you Permission Slips as soon as possible and remember students need a hat for this day. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Mrs Leatham McGrath the best of luck for the up coming arrival of her first born bub and thank her for all the amazing learning opportunities she has organised for her students. We will all miss you and hope to see you back at school with your bundle of joy! Thank you On Tuesday Night Bunyip Primary School had a visit from a local Volunteer Fire Fighter - John Legione to discuss the up and coming fire season and how best to prepare. The people who attended learnt a lot about Fire Safety, property preparation, preparing yourself for a fire and where to find information on fire danger warnings. Thank you John for a very informative session.

4 Tomato Plant Fundraiser It s our annual tomato plant sale of truss tomato and cherry tomato plants for $4.00 each or 3 for $ Please keep you eye out for the Order form (Green) and return it to school by Friday 26th October The plants sold out quickly last year so get in early. They are available for pick up on the morning of Tuesday 30th October at Bunyip Primary School. Friday 12th October was walk to School Day. The Staff and Students had a marvellous morning for a walk. The sun was shining and the weather was warm and a group of about 20 Staff and Students walked and rode to school. We hope that students and families make the most of the great weather and continue walking and riding to school.
