1 Murray Bridge North School Issue th November Term Reading is our school priority. Every child attending the North School is expected to read aloud to an adult every day. From the Principal Welcome to Term 4 and a busy term it is too! Swimming, Remembrance Day Assembly, Talent Night, Gala Day, Just Too Deadly Awards and Year 2 and Year 7 Graduation happens in a space of two months. Galaxy Gala Day Friday 17 th November is our annual Gala Day fundraisers. This Term is NO HAT NO PLAY POLICY This year we are doing a ticket system. These tickets are being used as money. The tickets are available to purchase from both the front of the canteen from 8:30am -9am or the front office for 50c each. On the day tickets will be sold at two separate booths one near the canteen and another in the gym. Please be aware you cannot exchange left over tickets for money. It commences at 12:30pm until 2:30pm. Your child can dress up as an Alien, astronaut or any space related character. There is so much to see and do: Raffles Food and Drink Star Gazing Scary Space Tunnel Temporary Tattoos Carnival Games Products to buy This event is open to the community. 2 2 Continued from the Principal.. Murray Bridge North School is a Safe Language Zone. Students who swear will be sent home with work to complete. Please discuss with your children what is acceptable language as others should not be exposed to inappropriate language of a few. Congratulations to students in Years 6 and 7 who entered into the NAB and FYA $20 Boss program. NAB provided each student with $20 to establish a business. Students needed to establish and run a business then repay the $20 plus $1 interest. Any other profits are divided between a charity of the students choice and school. Students collaborated and ran a number of businesses with four out of five making a profit. The largest profit was the Crazy Shake group which made over $360 profit. 100% of their profit will be donated to the students nominated charity headspace Murray Bridge. Well done to all students involved! TALENT NIGHT Tuesday November 28 th (Week 7) at 7:00pm Students participating in the School Festival Choir, the Brass and Wind Ensemble and Electives (Music and Dance) have been working towards their performances on Talent Night. This is their night to show what they have achieved. I would like to encourage you all to invite family and friends to attend, both to enjoy the event and to support the children.
