3 The school community at All Saints is founded on outstanding relationships, respect and an ambition for excellence. We care for every individual by celebrating achievement and providing support to ensure that our students are happy and successful young people. All Saints has an outstanding reputation for academic achievement and our personalised curriculum offers a wide range of exciting learning opportunities to develop the necessary skills and attributes to take students into the next stage of their educational journey. Our students are enthused, challenged and inspired through high-quality teaching which is delivered in specialist teaching areas, complemented by extensive ICT infrastructure and innovative learning and recreational areas. The broad extra-curricular programme adds further vibrancy to the life of the school and allows students to develop new interests and to involve themselves in a wide range of opportunities including sport, music, art, the Duke of Edinburgh award and foreign visits. In March 2014, Ofsted confirmed that All Saints is a very special educational community and judged the main school to be good with many outstanding features and the Sixth Form to be outstanding in all areas. More recently the Section 48 monitoring inspection confirmed the religious character of the school and praised the relentless drive for improvement. The school has also been awarded the silver standard for Investors in People. 4 There is no doubt that the students really enjoy coming to school. Ofsted, March 2014 New Beginnings Starting at All Saints Catholic High School is an exciting time for Year 7 students and we ensure that a smooth transition enables them to have a positive start to their secondary education. Before starting in Year 7, students have opportunities to spend time at All Saints to get to know their new Form Tutor and some of their peers in their tutor group. Once term begins in September, we help Year 7 students to settle in, to get to know the school environment and to understand their new school timetable. There are plenty of opportunities to make new friends through the extra-curricular life of the school with sports clubs, chaplaincy and music groups to join. I have met lots of new people and made new friends through group and pair work in my lessons. Y7 student Partnership We value highly the important relationship between home and school and as your child begins their journey in school, we work to foster a positive partnership to enable your child to flourish. Alongside parents evening, we have two further information evenings in Year 7 where you can meet subject teachers, your child s Form Tutor and Head of House. Throughout the year you will receive progress information for your child and you will be encouraged to support your child in setting targets and learning independently.

5 Supportive Environment The pastoral life of All Saints is central to our core beliefs and values and is a visible strength of the school. Students are cared for, valued as young people and nurtured throughout their time at All Saints. Our House system gives a sense of identity and belonging and our vertical tutor groups enable students from different year groups to work together and to learn from and with one another. This family style of tutor grouping provides peer mentors and good role models for our younger students. We also have strong student learning support teams providing excellent care and guidance to students as they progress through the school. As a community, we work actively together to ensure that each child achieves their full potential and is safe and happy. 7Year

6 The teachers are all really supportive and my personal targets help me to develop my skills in class. Y8 student Personalised Curriculum After a successful first year, our Year 8 students begin to look towards their future and have an opportunity to choose some of their subjects for study later in the school. Guidance is provided to families through our Heads of House, subject areas and Form Tutors. Students can also talk through their choices with older members of their tutor group. All Saints offers lots of extra-curricular activities, there is something for everyone. Y8 student Responsibility As students move through the school, there are opportunities to take on a role of responsibility. We have Prefects in the upper school, House Captains and, in Year 8, students have the chance to welcome visitors to the school through reception duty. Year 8 students also take part in visits to our primary feeder schools to discuss the transition to All Saints and to work with Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.

7 Extra-curricular Opportunities Our students enjoy a wealth of extra-curricular clubs, trips and opportunities to develop new skills and friendships. Competitive sports teams enable students to compete against other schools and to hone their sporting talents. Parents and carers are invited to musical showcases and art displays to celebrate achievement. Alongside our spiritual retreat programme we also run a number of school excursions and residential visits, from theatre outings and fieldwork to music tours and foreign trips. 8Year

8 Year 9 is focussed on developing the skills you need to succeed at GCSE. I feel well prepared for the GCSE courses I am taking. Y9 student Academic Pathway In Year 9, students begin to study their option subjects, starting their GCSE and BTEC work. The three year preparation for the GCSE examinations allows students to develop a deep knowledge of each subject and Year 9 provides a foundation of skills and understanding across the curriculum. The school s support for students spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and their physical well-being is outstanding. Ofsted, March 2014 Healthy Living We believe that it is important to provide balanced and nutritious meals for our students. Our excellent dining facilities allow students to access breakfast before school and to choose from a wide range of hot and cold meals both at break time and lunchtime. Our staggered lunch system gives students the space to enjoy their lunch comfortably in the company of friends.

9 Personal Development Alongside the academic and extra-curricular opportunities at All Saints, we also seek to support students in their personal journey towards spiritual development. Daily prayer, termly liturgies and Mass provide time for reflection and growth and whether these are exclusively school experiences or a continuation of family life, we ensure students feel comfortable and included. This is complemented by a vibrant chaplaincy input and a retreat programme for all year groups. 9Year

10 The mentoring programme at All Saints is very helpful as you are supported in your development across the subjects you study. Y10 student Ambition for Excellence The careers advice and interviews help you to focus on the options and choices you can pursue after your GCSE examinations. Y10 student As students move into the second year of their GCSE and BTEC studies there is a greater focus on careers and future pathways. Year 10 students have a personal staff mentor who, in addition to their Form Tutor, monitors their academic performance and discusses the options for Post 16 education. This is complemented by our careers guidance in school and talks from external speakers. Further academic options are chosen to personalise the students studies and opportunities to develop transferable skills are fostered across the curriculum.

11 Celebrating Achievement The fulfilment of God-given potential is central to our vision at All Saints. We have high expectations of our students in all aspects of their work, behaviour, attendance and appearance. We are proud of all our students achievements, from excellent academic performance in the classroom and exceptional success in sport, drama and music, to the outstanding effort and endeavour to support others through our charitable fundraising. We believe that it is our responsibility to help our young people to realise their dreams, fulfil their potential and to go on to succeed in the workplace and wider world. 10Year

12 Students make good progress and attain well over time because much of the teaching they receive is outstanding. Ofsted, March 2014 Inspiring Independence Across the curriculum I have been encouraged to develop the independence I will need to succeed later on in life. Y11 student In Year 11, students are working towards the final preparation for their GCSE and BTEC studies. The timetable allows students to manage their study time by providing independent study periods for three mornings during the week. Access to additional support classes and revision sessions ensures that students are ready to succeed. Sixth formers provide mentoring and discussion sessions to help Year 11 students to finalise their Post 16 plans. Year 11 students also have the opportunity to attend careers and apprenticeship fairs alongside a number of optional national summer schools.

13 Innovative Learning Environment 11 In 2011, All Saints was redesigned to provide the very best specialist and learning spaces for the growing school community. The buildings and outside areas allow for innovative teaching and learning and give our students space to develop their interests and to experience new areas of the curriculum. Independent study is encouraged in our numerous ICT suites and Year breakout areas offer opportunities for students to work individually or in groups. Our sporting facilities comprise 10 all-weather pitches and the sports halls contain three international basketball courts alongside a multi-gym and physiotherapy room.

14 Valued students, dedicated teachers, engaging subjects and endless opportunities make for an inspiring and exciting time at All Saints. The sixth form is outstanding. Students benefit greatly from outstanding teaching and a menu of bespoke courses. Ofsted, March 2014 Sixth Form and Beyond Our thriving Sixth Form greatly enhances the character of the school and completes a smooth pathway for seven years of education. Many of our students move through to Year 12 and this is testament to the very positive relationships and challenging and enriching curriculum which ensures that all continue to progress. The vast majority of our sixth form students are successful in obtaining a place at the university of their choice, including many of the top universities in the country. Welcoming Community Our school is built on a strong Christian foundation which resonates through our whole community. Former staff and students are regular visitors to the school and many families have a long tradition of sending their children to All Saints.
