Ans: The different types of nouns are:- 1) Proper noun. 2) Common noun. 3) Collective noun. 4) Abstract noun. Proper noun: - special names given to people, place, festivals, books, days, months etc are called Proper nouns. 1) Delhi is the capital of India. Proper noun Delhi, India. 2) Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka. Proper noun Bangalore, Karnataka. 3) Shah Rukh Khan is the hero of Chennai Express. Common noun: - Names given in general to people, places, animals or things are common nouns. 1) Cupboard is a place for keeping things. Common noun Cupboard. 2) We fill water in bucket. Common noun bucket. 3) We can cut papers with scissors. Common noun paper, scissors. Collective Noun: A word that stands for a collection of people or things spoken of as a whole is called a collective noun. 1) A flock of sheep. 2) A bouquet of flower. 3) A fleet of ships. 4) A bunch of keys. Abstarct noun: - are names of things we can only think of or feel but cannot see or touch. 1) Without health there is no happiness. 2) A thing of beauty is joy forever. 3) Life is short. 4) King Solomon was known for his wisdom.

4 4. COUNTABLE AND UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS Q1) What are countable nouns? Ans: Countable nouns are things that can be counted. dozen bananas, Moon, Sun etc. Q2) What are uncountable nouns? Ans: Uncountable nouns are things that you can t count. sea water, river water, sugar, rice. 5. SINGULAR AND PLURAL NOUNS Q1) What is singular noun?
