2 Grammar: Possessive Nouns A possessive noun shows who or what owns something. Add an apostrophe ( ) and -s to a singular noun to make it possessive. I walk the dog of my friend. The bowl of the fish is round. I walk my friend s dog. The fish s bowl is round. Rewrite the underlined parts with a possessive noun. Write it on the line. 1. The bowl of the cat is empty. 2.
