INSTANT 6-10 LY NESS FUL AN - IAN ABLE - IBLE The Suffix "LY," which means LIKE; in the MANNER OF. NOTE: Key no. 5 "LESS" made adjectives out of nouns. Adding "LY" to these adjectives makes adverbs out of them. The Suffix "NESS," means STATE OF. NOTE: Adding "NESS" to the suffix "LESS" turns those adjectives back into nouns. Just as "LY" makes adverbs, so "NESS" is the sure sign of a noun. The Suffix "FUL," means FULL OF. Notice the spelling of this key. The suffix has only one "L" whereas the word "FULL" has two. This Suffix "AN - IAN," which means NATIVE OF; RELATING TO. This key makes adjectives out of the nouns that they are added to. It is a very important key ("AN -IAN") these days. It opens the door to knowledge of the peoples of the world. This Suffix "ABLE -fble," means ABLE; CAN DO. It is a very simple key and much in use. -

INSTANT 11 ~ 15 TRA-TRANS PORT IN -llvl EN-EM AD The Prefixes "TRA - TRANS," which means ACROSS; THROUGH; OVER. PORT is a Root. It means CARRY. This is the first root that you have encountered. The Prefixes "IN - 1M," means NOT. - NOTE: When the root following this prefix begins with the "lip letters" (b, ill, or p), then you use the prefix 1M. All other times use IN Example: 1N!bility - as opposed to 1MJ!erfect. This change is made for the sake of EUPHONY -pleasing sound. The Prefixes "EN - EM," which means INTO; IN. The difference between the two is the same as IN - 1M; before roots with "lip letters" use EM. Otherwise, EN is the correct form. This Prefix "AD," means TO; TOWARD. It is a very difficult key because the AD changes depending on the following letter of the root. If the root starts with a "C" AD becomes AC. If the root starts with either F, G, L, N, or S then AD becomes AF, A G, AL, AN, or AS. Examples: AC ept, AF!iance, AGgressive, ALlege, AN!!ounce, or AS~ert

----~ INSTANT 16 = 20 The Prefixes "IL - IR," means NOT just like the key "IN," EN except that certain consonants changes the spelling. Before a root word beginning with "1" "IN" becomes "IL." Before an "R" In becomes "IR." This is done to make words easier to say and more pleasant to hear. ITE AL DI "ITE' means NATIVE OF (Israelite); QUALITY OF (Exquisite); J\.1INERALPRODUCT (Graphite); When ITE is used there is always the quality of belonging. The suffix "AL" means RELATING TO, and can be attached to a vast number of words and brings all of them the simple and all-important message of relationship. The Prefixe "DI," which means TWO; DOUBLE; SEPARAIE; may seem contradictory and is a difficult key. Think of words such as DIvorce, DIvide, and DIvision which suggests "two," because of the prefix but instead means separate. This Root "FER" means BRING; BEAR; YIELD. It comes from the Latin ferre, to bring. The simplest word with this meaning is FERtile and not just meaning of the earth, but of FER the body and the mind. This root has many psychological inferences as well as physical ones. It is a good key and yields a great deal.

INSTANT This is a root "NASC - NAT' and although most often occurring in the prefix position it nevertheless remains a NASC-NAT root. It comes from the Latin Nascor and means TO BE BORN~TO SPRING FORTH. IC AUD-ADS VIS - VID AGE This suffix "Ie' means NATURE OF~ LIKE. It is such a simple suffix lets add the following suffixes to it, "AL" and "LY" You now have a compound suffix, "ICALLY" It can be added to practically every adjective and then it becomes an adverb as: acidically, caustically, barbarically, strategically, geologically, heroicall Y, majesically, etc. These are the roots "A UD - A US" (which comes from the Latin audire) meaning HEAR~ LISTEN which is exactly what these roots mean. As the above are auditory roots these two are visual ones. The roots "VIS - VID" comes from the Latin verb video, visus, which means to SEE. Yes, there are two spellings of this Latin root and until video came along we most often knew only of things visual. This Suffix "AGE' mean ACT OF~ STATE OF~ FUNCTION OF~ RESULT OF~ COLLECTION OF. It is similar to keys you've encountered but the use of this suffix is a matter of deciding which meaning fits best.

INSTANT 31 = 35 This Prefix "DIS" means TAKE AWAY; NOT (negative); DEPRIVE OF. It is different from other keys which have similar meanings. "DIS" carries with it a sense of failure; DIS your had something and lost it. A soldier who played the ~ violin and lost a couple of fingers was DISabled. A man who cheated and lost his credit became DIScredited. See? MENT FAC-FACT FIC - FECT NON This suffix "MENT' means ACT OF; STATE OF; RESULT OF AN ACTION. "MENT" almost always, but not always, makes nouns out of verbs when added to them. These are the roots "FAC - FACT' meaning MAKE. It comes from the Latinfacere, factus, to make; to construct. This is the root "FIC - FECT" and as above also means MAKE. This Prefix "NON' which means not in practically all languages in some similar form. You have already had "IN' and "1M" meaning not and "UN' meaning NOT. You will see that "NON' is not as emphatic "IS "IN - 1M - UN." For example: "He is a NON,..American" simply means that he in not an American citizen, he is a citizen of another country. "He is UN-American" means he's engaged in activities which are contrary to the American way of life; he violates the ideal of American Democracy.
