I. VOCABULARY Exercise 1: What s the meaning? (5-6 minutes) A. Choose the meaning of the underlined words from the choices that follow. 1. 3 Exercise 2: What s the word? (4-5 minutes) Read the following dialog with your tutor and try to use context clues to fill in the blanks with the most appropriate word. You can find the missing word from the pool of words at the bottom. Natasha talks to her partner about a plan she was assigned to design and submit by the end of the week. Natasha: Good morning, Kevin. I have something to ask. I need to whether I have to include the setting of the venue in the plan or I ll just focus on the program. Kevin: Are these the materials for the meeting of the company? If so, then please include it. Natasha: Yes, it is. I am considering hiring some people to assist me during the day. Would that be okay? Kevin: That s fine with me. Although we still have to present that to the Budget Committee. Let s see if they will accept or the idea. Natasha: Okay. I ll just submit this to you now so you can check it before presenting it to the committee. Kevin: That sounds good to me. Natasha: Alright. See you later. 4 II. GRAMMAR REVIEW: Topic: Adjectives (5-6 minutes) General Description: Adjectives are words which tell us something about nouns, that is, about a person, an animal, a thing or a place. The following are the different kinds of adjectives and how they are used. Kinds of Description Example Adjectives Descriptive Tells about color, shape or condition That is a difficult task. Quantitative Tells about quantity or amount I have three questions to ask. Remember: An adjective may be placed before or after the noun it describes. Examples: Here are more examples of usage of different kinds of adjectives: The trainee is holding the brown envelope. The trainer is writing in the rectangular board. The manager needs three crews to assist the customers. Comprehension Check: Identify the adjective and the kind of adjective that is used in the sentence. The strict boss analyzes the employees performance. Page 4
