2 C4RE Class Teachers To deepen Teacher-Student-Relationship (TSR), all Form Teachers and Co-Form Teachers are henceforth known as C4RE (pronounced as Care) Teachers and will collaborate as a team to attend to the students needs Each class will have two or three C4RE Teachers and students can approach any of them should they need guidance and assistance The C4RE teachers in charge of your child are 2

14 Common Understanding Pupils Grooming School Uniform Wednesday and Friday PE Attire Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (CCA), Thursday Attendance Matters If pupil is absent, an MC or Parent s letter is required 14

15 Communication Checking your child s books and assignments regularly and communicating or highlighting issues to teachers. Check the Pupils Handbook for homework or notes from teacher. Books will be sent home for parents to check progress on a monthly basis- please go through the worksheets and acknowledge by signing them Communicate with teachers if you do not receive your child s books to check on his progress 15

16 Letter on Summary of Level Programmes Objectives provide a consolidated information at the beginning of the term minimise parents receiving too many forms at various points of time easy on students who sometimes forget to show parents and forms go missing one-time payment and collection of monies Missing forms or notification can be retrieved from the school website. 16

24 Paper Format STANDARD MATHEMATICS The examination consists of 2 written papers comprising 3 booklets. 24

25 Points to note: White Sands Primary School Paper Format STANDARD MATHEMATICS 1.Both papers will be scheduled on the same day with a break between the two papers. 2.Paper 1 comprises two booklets ( 30 questions, 1 hour ). The use of calculators is not allowed. 3.Paper 2 comprises one booklet (17 questions 1 h 30 min ). The use of an approved calculator is expected where appropriate. 25

37 Secondary 1 Posting PSLE Aggregate All four examinable subjects ( English Language, Mother Tongue, Math and Science) carry equal weightage PSLE Aggregate is calculated based on the sum of the four examinable subjects ( excluding Higher Mother Tongue) 37

38 Secondary 1 Posting PSLE Aggregate The T-Score of these four subjects are added to give the PSLE aggregate Raw marks obtained for a subject are converted to a Transformed-Score (T-Score) T-Score shows the performance of the child for a subject compared to all other students in that subject 38

39 DSA Direct School Admission (DSA) allows students to seek admission to a secondary school on the basis of talents and achievements that may not be demonstrated at the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE). enables students to enter suitable academic and non-academic programmes in Secondary Schools that can develop the students in these areas. Information is released normally in March April at 39

40 Direct School Admission (DSA) Each participating school sets its own criteria for selection Parents obtain details on selection criteria by visiting the secondary school website or attending their open houses Application stage for each school is different 40

41 Direct School Admission (DSA) DSA-Sec school allocation results released on the same day as release of PSLE results. Students who are successfully allocated to their DSA schools will not be allowed to participate in the Secondary 1 posting exercise Parents advised to be mindful of not overloading their children with many selections 41
