3 Committee membership Steering Committee Made up of district administration, select elementary principals, administration from all middle schools 14 people served on the Steering Committee Task Force members selected through application and principal input Selected every parent that requested to be involved, unless more than one parent was interested per neighborhood group 18 parent/community representatives

6 Enrollment projection model Used March 1, 2017 Student Services data to arrive at projected enrollment for through Assumes all students residing in a neighborhood group will attend their boundary school o Doesn t account for choice options, Intra-district transfers in/out or open enrolled students o Doesn t account for move in s and move out s that occur over time Each year grade 8 is removed and grade 5 from the previous year is added into the middle school enrollment projected middle school enrollment is derived from th through 7 th grade students in the database projected enrollment derived from th through 6 th grade students in the database The data base is adjusted for projected future students from known residential developments Adjusted for future students from known residential developments o.2 middle school students per future residence. o Assumes a 4-7 year build-out schedule for each known development in each neighborhood group.

7 Baseline Map Streamline the attendance boundary process for the Task Force Focuses the work of the Task Force on 34 neighborhood groups and 1000 middle school students rather than 130 neighborhood groups and 4300 middle school students Swaps Armstrong and Cottage Grove elementary schools Armstrong moves to Cottage Grove Middle Cottage Grove Elem moves to Oltman Middle Moves Middle School Spanish Immersion program to Woodbury Middle Neighborhood groups bordering both Oltman and Cottage Grove Middle (C10, C11, C12, C13) open to further discussion Area between Bailey Road to the north and Woodbury/Cottage Grove border to the south open for further discussion based on proximity to multiple middle schools and high future residential growth Specific neighborhood groups in the Lake attendance area that could be moved to alternate middle school while still retaining contiguous boundaries and improving elementary school to middle school and middle school to high school cohort groups
