3 Villa Rica Cluster Report Villa Rica Schools serve approximately 5,500 students in the northern portion of Carroll County. The Villa Rica Cluster Cluster includes Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School, Ithica Elementary School, Sand Hill Elementary School, Villa Rica Elementary, Bay Springs Middle School, Villa Rica Middle School, and Villa Rica High School. Students who attend Villa Rica Schools have unique opportunities to excel in academics, arts and athletics, while also learning leadership skills and building character. The Villa Rica Cluster is part of the Carroll County School District, which is located 50 miles west of Atlanta. The District offers premier educational opportunities to approximately 14,700 students throughout its 23 schools and two College and Career Academy sites. The Carroll County School District s mission is to develop globally competitive college and career ready graduates. The District takes pride in the impact it has on the citizens of Carroll County and is focused on the long-term success of the students, staff and communities it serves. 4 Elementary School Achievement The state of Georgia has changed the state assessment program to use a new more rigorous assessment process. The new assessment format is called the Georgia Milestones. This is the second year of implementation of this new assessment effort. Villa Rica Cluster Elementary Schools showed improvement in 11 out of 12 areas from year one to year two of the implementation of the Georgia Milestones. Additionally, Elementary showed improvement in all grade levels on the Lexile reading measures. This opportunity is called Genius Time. 12 Technology The Villa Rica Schools continue to increase student and staff access to technology to improve learning. The use of digital tools in classrooms has enhanced student engagement and interaction. From mobile devices, to interactive boards, teachers are effectively helping students learn. Fine Arts

15 Cluster Collaboration The Villa Rica Cluster focus on creating a unique child-centered approach to educating students while emphasizing the importance of family, school pride, character and a commitment to excellence. Villa Rica Cluster Schools work together to offer students a variety of opportunities to participate in engaging learning opportunities. The Cluster held a STEM night, Math Night, Fine Arts Night, Parent Nights, Summer Arts Camp and Summer Robotics Camp. Additionally, Cluster schools emphasize the importance of family, school pride, character and responsibility.
