2 Texas Response to Curriculum Focal Points Highlights Grade 6 The curriculum focal point and its description are presented on the summary page for each grade level.... a curriculum focal point is not a single TEKS statement; a curriculum focal point is a mathematical idea or theme that is developed through appropriate arrangements of TEKS statements at that grade level that lead into a connected grouping of TEKS at the next grade level -TxRCFP (2010) pg. 5 The content standards are listed below each focal point, and the actual SE statements are on the focal point page. 4 Mathematical Process Standards Cards. The student uses mathematical processes to acquire and demonstrate mathematical understanding. One set per group, print on tan cardstock. (1)(A) (1)(E) The student is expected to apply mathematics to problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplace. The student is expected to create and use representations to organize, record, and communicate mathematical ideas.
