3 Using the Multiplication Chart for Division Practice 1 The multiplication chart shown here can be used to find any basic multiplication or division fact until you have learned them all. One of the best ways to learn the facts is to practice using the chart. Columns Rows Read across for the Rows. Read up or down for the Columns. Note: To find how many times 8 divides into 56, run one finger across the 8 row until you come to 56 and run a finger up the column with 56 until you come to the top number which is 7.
