They also use the Pythagorean theorem and its converse to solve problems. Unit 7: Surface Area Students make concrete connections to the formulas for lateral and total surface area and apply those formulas to solve problems in mathematical and real-world situations. Unit 8: Volume Students solve problems involving volume in mathematical and realworld situations.
