1 Help us provide children-in-need with Happy Birthdays! Stinson will be creating birthday boxes as part of our Friendship Parties for the kids at the Richardson and Dallas Boys & Girls Clubs. Birthday boxes will contain all the supplies needed for a birthday party for a child in need. Students will decorate birthday cards and collect birthday supplies all week long. Supplies Needed: Themes by Grade: * Box of Cake Mix Kindergarten: Trolls and Marvel * Vegetable Oil * Frosting * Disposable Cake Pan (8X8 or 13X9) * Candles and Balloons * Party Themed Plates, Cups, Napkins and Forks 1st Grade: Barbie and Lego Movie 2nd Grade: LOL and Ben 10 3rd Grade: Unicorns and Mine Craft * Party Themed Decorations (Table Cloth, Banner, Streamers, etc.) 4th Grade: Soccer and Star Wars * Party Hats 5th Grade: Spa Party and Video Games (must be non-specific) * Party Themed Favors * Small Gifts (Crayons, Toys, Games, etc. tied to theme) * Gift Cards (Walmart, Target, etc.) * Gift Bags Cash Donations accepted as well as Paypal: Julie.Jennings@gmail.com Venmo: Julie-Jennings-10 All items should be new and unopened. 2 February is Multicultural Month at Stinson! Fun and exciting things are happening for our Stinson Students in the month of February! MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS: Students may sign-up to be on the Morning Announcements during the month of February. (Sign-up sheets will be located outside of Mrs. Bedard s room 405) Say 1-2 sentences in your native language. Share a poem, story, song, or native dance from another country. Please keep all speaking/performing parts between 30 seconds and 1 minute. Students can listen for their name each day on the morning announcements- A Multicultural Prize Winner will be announced every day! IN THE CLASSROOMS AT STINSON during the month of February: Dress in your favorite multicultural clothing - every Friday in the month of February. Bring in an artifact or souvenir from another country to share with your class on Fridays during the month of February. Share a native song or dance with your class on Fridays during the month of February. MULTICULTURAL FOOD for the teachers during the month of February: Sign up to donate food from your native country for teachers to sample on Friday 3/1. 3 Stinson Parents, In honor of our Multicultural Month (February) at Stinson, we would like to have a special celebration for our teachers and staff on Friday, March 1 st. We were hoping to have our teachers and staff sample some of the traditional dishes from countries around the world. We have so much diversity at Stinson and we want to honor and celebrate all the different cultures with our teachers and staff. If you would like to send in a dish from your native country for the teachers/staff to sample, please fill out the form below and return to Mrs. Bedard by Friday, February 22 nd. 6 Registration Opens March 4 for the Huffman Elementary IB PYP Candidate School and You re Invited to Learn More at One of these Upcoming Information Meetings Huffman Elementary is a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and pursuing authorization as an IB World School. The IB Primary Years Programme is a transformative experience for students, teachers and whole communities. These partners in learning, including parents, actively contribute to a holistic educational experience. Registration opens on March 4 and spaces are limited.
