8 Lincoln PALS Birthday Basket Two years ago the Physical Education Department applied for and received a grant from the American Cancer Society and Kohl s Healthy Kids to help promote healthier birthday choices. At Lincoln, we used the money to purchase birthday prizes for students. This school year, I am excited to announce we will continue the birthday basket program with the continued support of the Lincoln PALS. Without the financial support from our PALS group, this program would be difficult to sustain. We developed some simple choices to offer healthier options for celebrating birthdays. Students have twelve different birthday choices this school year. Here at Lincoln Elementary School, students can choose one of the twelve options listed below to help make their birthday a special day. Birthday Activities: 1. Outdoor recess 2. Indoor recess 3. Computer time 4. Dance party 5. Health walk 6. Front of the line all day 7. Help with the morning announcements 8. Choose the warm up game in gym class Birthday Prizes: 9. Playground ball 10. Jump rope 11. Frisbee Happy Birthday Lincoln Lions! Traditional: 12. Birthday treat Thank you, Greg Anderson
