1 11 January 2018 Welcome to The King's School, of an institution learning to the glory of God

2 God has given us this wonderful gift of a new year! There is so much excitement about the good that this year holds, and here at The King s School we are eagerly anticipating the growth in knowledge and maturity of faith for our children. You ll see we call ourselves an institution of learning and not an institution of teaching. That s because teaching is all about delivery from teachers while learning is all about growth, development and formation for our students. Teaching is a means but learning is the end we strive to achieve. Before we embark on the 2018 adventure, let s pause to celebrate the successes of our 2017 class. Our Grade 12 group of 2017 achieved superb results in their Senior Certificate exams and continued the proud tradition we have at The King's School of excellent academic performance. Of 46 candidates that wrote the exams, we achieved: 100 % pass rate 100% University entrance 73 distinctions Our top students were Kyle Cloete, Heinrich Ferreira, Melita Meyer and Lauren Webber who each obtained 5 distinctions! Our top subjects in terms of distinctions were: Life Orientation - 26 distinctions Afrikaans - 10 distinctions Maths Literacy - 10 distinctions Maths and Business Studies - 7 distinctions Accounting - 4 distinctions English - 3 distinctions Physical Science and Art - 2 distinctions Let us remember to give thanks for the blessings that God bestows on us, and the faithfulness of those who toil to produce a harvest such as this. Among these faithful ones I want to highlight all the teachers from preschool through to Grade 12, parents who have sacrificed for their children and of course, students who contributed hard work and dedication - it is you, as a team, that we congratulate. MR KEN LANGLEY PRINCIPAL 2 School fees must be paid in advance, before the 7th of each month, 12 Months of the year.
