1 November Ridge Road, Sykesville MD (Phone) (Fax) Becky DuPree, Principal Michele Becker, Assistant Principal From the Cardinals Front Office Thank you to our outstanding PTA and our PE teachers for a successful Fun Run. The weather was ideal and students all enjoyed this outdoor event. Mrs. Buppert and Mrs. Hopkins-Fisher facilitated an outstanding program for grades K-5 where members from the Maasai Tribe visited our students informing them about the Maasai culture and traditions. We are very lucky to have hosted these international guests from Kenya at Carrolltowne. During the month of November we anxiously look forward to the performance of Peter Pan by Carrolltowne students. Volunteers and students have been working hard to prepare for the evening production which is sponsored by our PTA. Please look for first quarter report cards to be sent home with students on November 11th, and parent teacher conferences scheduled on November 10th. If you wish to schedule a conference with your child s teacher specific directions are noted below. Thank you to all parents/guardians who have provided written permission for visitors to have lunch or attend activities such as Fun Run with children. These notes can be sent in with children and can apply to the entire school year if preferred. November 14th-18th is American Education Week. Please take time to visit your child s classroom during this week. If visitors other than parents or legal guardians (grandparents/stepparents) are coming to visit during this week, please be sure to provide the office with written permission from the parent/legal guardian. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this new practice. Finally, as we head into the fall and winter seasons, encourage your children to layer their clothing for unpredictable temperature changes. Students will participate in outdoor recess unless the temperature feels below 32 degrees or it is raining. Layered clothing can offer some flexibility for very unpredictable temperatures.
