16 Non-Paper Format (Performance Tasks) Picture and Tell Pupils choose a picture and talk about it. They will be guided and a lot of scaffolding will be done. Let Me Tell You Pupils speak on a given topic, e.g. My family/ My hobby/favourite Sports
17 Non-Paper Format (Performance Tasks) Reading Aloud Pupils read a given passage aloud. Stimulus-Based Conversation Pupils respond to a given stimulus by engaging in a conversation with the teacher. They will be taught the TREES strategies.
18 Paper Format (Performance Tasks) Picture Composition Pupils write a composition on a series of 4 pictures. Helping words are provided.
19 Listening Comprehension Pupils are assessed on their listening skills, e.g. discriminating beginning and ending sounds of words; answering questions based on a passage they have heard. Term Test & Paper 2 Pupils are assessed on their language use, namely grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, synthesis and comprehension.
20 English Home Reading with your child: creates a special bond helps to comfort boost your child s listening skills develops language skills helps prepare your child to learn provides fun and entertainment Start TODAY.
