9 New GCSE Targets We will set targets based on Key Stage 2 tests as a starting point... Whole GCSE grade 9-1, or A*-G Targets can be adjusted by teachers to make sure they are stretching and appropriate

10 Growth Mind-Set Recognise it is a long journey Lots can change over five years Reports will enable you to see if they are ontrack given their starting point If students drop below expected progress, we will discuss this with you and work out ways to help them improve

The reports are only a snapshot of progress Workbooks from class contain much more detailed feedback and guidance See Homework marks and comments Guidance for improvement Common to see WWW/EBI Talk to the students about their work Focus on praise and how to improve

32 Foundation tier Higher tier Other resources to use at home Students should order a revision guide and workbook through ParentPay for a discounted price of Students will receive their copies of the books from their Maths teachers once the orders have been processed.

33 Foundation tier Higher tier Calculators It is important that all students have their own calculator and bring it to each lessons to ensure they are familiar with using it. Calculators will not be leant out during mock or public exams. The Maths faculty sell calculators at a discounted rate of Students can purchase these from the Maths office at break or lunch.

50 Leventhorpe Sixth Form We would like as many of our Year 11s to stay as possible However, we have to give good advice and guidance Spending a year or two on the wrong course would be no good You need to have gained the Level 2 threshold five or more C+ GCSEs, Maths and English to grade 5 Level 3 A Levels now two year qualifications, exam heavy Level 3 BTEC qualification, greater proportion of coursework

51 The Leventhorpe Sixth Form Curriculum Based around four option blocks, where students choose three options (leaving the last for independent study) A Levels are now linear all the exams happen at the end of the second year Universities and employers want the best three grades AS levels will not normally be taken Apply by 6 th December so that we can timetable for your choices

53 Entry Requirements We have moved away from average points score Each subject has specific entry requirements GCSE B in Geography to take A Level Geography Five C or better grades to do A Level Business Studies An applicant has to have the grades to fill up three option blocks as we only offer full-time sixth form education
