3 Common Core State Standards will increasingly be the basis for professional development (PD) on subject matter content: Teachers & administrators will need PD on how Common Core State Standards differ from previous standards. PD will be needed to develop teacher content knowledge with a focus on the Common Core State Standards, and instructional strategies and methods for implementation of the Common Core State Standards. Mathematics and English/Language Arts and Reading only; NGSSS for all other areas. 3
