3 Science Computing History Geography Creating line graphs comparing their resting heart rate and heart rate after activity Comparing speeds of animals to speeds of Olympic and Paralympic athletes functions of the heart and the role of blood in the body through a variety of activities and drawing their learning together in a Wonder Exhibition exploring the wonder of the human body and what it can do. (see Kent Scheme of Work for Primary Science) Children will be researching famous Paralympians and Olympians to create their own biographies. Children will be researching the functions of the heart in order to create a guide on how the heart works. Children will describe a local history study- Luton through the ages In One World Week, children will be comparing the lives of children in South America to their own. They will be exploring the geographical similarities and differences of the two locations Children recognise that light appears to travel in straight lines. They will use the idea that light travels in straight lines to explain that objects are seen because they give out or reflect light into the eye. They will explain how we see things and explain why shadows have the same shape as the objects that cast them. Children will be designing and making their own apps to pitch to their peers in the Year 6 Dragon s Den. movement of humans and the impact migration can have on an area. For their Just So Stories, children will be designing their own illustrations after researching and comparing the illustrations in the text. Children will have to explain and justify their use of media and colour and evaluate their final illustrations. Children will be exploring a healthy diet and designing their own breakfast for an athlete based on this learning. Children will be designing and creating their own Street Art, exploring political messages that art can have and how art can have an impact on the world. role of technology in the world and the impact it has on shaping the culture. They will be designing and creating their own apps. They will carry out customer research in Year 3,4 and 5. Finally, they will pitch their very own apps in a Year 6 Dragon s Den.
