3 RELEVANT EXPERIENCE Equity Consultant, Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, San Francisco Unified School District, San Francisco, CA Developed and facilitated equity trainings for high school teachers and parents with a focus on ways digital and social media develops cultural humility and anti-racism. Supported participants' capacity to pro-actively communicate with their students about implicit bias, race, and racism within the current socio-political contexts. Faculty Associate, Center for Teaching and Learning, Sacramento State University, Sacramento, CA Designed Professional Learning Community (PLC) on Maker Education. Facilitated "Makerspaces: Interdisciplinary Collaboration in Action" PLC made up of faculty from five of Sacramento State's seven colleges, library faculty, and Sacramento Area Maker educators to develop a Master's Degree (MA) in Maker Education and an undergraduate experiential course in making for the College of Education Current Assistant Professor of Critical Multicultural Education/ Foundations, Teaching Credentials Branch, College of Education, Sacramento State University Instructional faculty responsible for teaching more than 250 teacher candidates in Single Subject and Multiple Subject Programs annually to conduct a critical analysis of the purposes and processes of public schooling. Students examine the socio-political contexts of public schools and society, educational theories, philosophies, notions of culture, community, and educational practice. Candidates also learn foundational knowledge to execute the Plan-Instruct- Assess-Reflect cycle of mindful teaching. 3

4 -2016 Director of Education, The Representation Project, San Francisco, CA Authored and published two digital textbooks for the films Miss Representation and The Mask You Live In distributed to more than 10,000 K-16 schools in 16 countries. Created digital toolkits and resources used by more than 65,000 youth, parents, and coaches. across the United States and internationally. Conducted a design based research project that examined how 180 educator, parent, and youth participants used design thinking strategies to engage learning and problem solve in schools and communities. Supervised a team of undergraduate student researchers. Designed digital resources to broaden reach to youth and parents and support media literacies and positive identity processes. OTHER TEACHING EXPERIENCE Adjunct Faculty, Department of International and Multicultural Education, School of Education, University of San Francisco, San Francisco, CA Ethnic Studies in Education: Focus on African American Students Instructed graduate seminar that provides a critical analysis of the sociohistorical and sociocultural contexts of education for African-ancestry Americans in the contiguous United States. Students explore relationships between social stratification, racism, and the education and schooling of Black Americans. Graduate Student Instructor, Urban Education UC Berkeley, Graduate School of Education Instructed pre-service teachers in preparation for their teaching of urban youth. Topics of instruction included understanding the ecology of urban schooling contexts and innovations implemented to address issues concerning urban youth in both formal and informal learning environments. Master Teacher, English/Theater and Performance Studies Masjid Al Islam School, Oakland, CA Chaired the English and Theater Arts Departments for K-8th grade students in private school. Instructed 3rd-8th grade students in holistic curricula to develop student literacies and communicative competencies. Developed and implemented lesson plans, resources, and online assessments of student progress. 4
