For me it was easy to follow along but many people in the class found that he didn't explain things well and even preferred subs over him which would be why some may not want him as an instructor. Dr. Creamer teaches very well and provides detailed notes on each section that come in handy when it comes time to study for an exam. His way of teaching did not match the way I learn most effectively. Someone else could benefit from his teaching style though. My instructor is always prepared for class and was always willing to help He was helpful and cared about our learning experience Gives extra credit opportunities, pretty lenient He knows what he's talking about Very difficult class, I showed up everyday and still had lots of trouble grasping the topics the way he explained them He is really willing to help you outside of class which is super helpful, but during class we went super fast & it was difficult to comprehend everything being discussed. He spoke loudly, clearly, and answered all questions. I would not recommend him because his teaching style is not very clear and his tests are much more difficult than anything gone over in the notes. yes He's not as organized and goes over the powerpoints quickly. Go over the notes more in depth and slower He would always have office hours and was willing to help you. He's usually good at explaining problems, but can go fast on some slides, so learning to write quickly is a must. He gave opportunities for help and to improve our grade. Mr. Creamer made the concepts very easy to understand and offered plenty of help outside of the classroom. He was laid back but also a very effective professor. Our work load was very doable and the content of our work was meaningful. He had a solid grasp of the concepts being taught and explained them very clearly He gives you the opportunity to raise your grade and is open to a lot of questions. He is exceptionally easygoing and very willing to work with a student if they need it, even if it is outside his office hours. Clear concise Yeah What did your instructor do that you found particularly helpful? He always went into depth to explain when someone had a question. Dr. Creamer posted his notes on his website after class. They are helpful when I come across a problem I am stuck on in the homework. Now that I am studying for the final, I discovered I had lost some notes. It was nice to know that he had a copy on his website. He was very accessible when it came to office hours and kept up with s very well. He gave a lot of opportunities to ask questions during class and was always available during the week. Worked out exanples Dropping quiz grades Be patient Answered questions well Office hours. He made sure anything confusing was cleared up when asked. He had available office hours example problems Was greatly accessible during office hours. He doesn't have anything particular. He would explain hard homework problems. file:///users/daniel/downloads/ math dan1010c.html 3/5

He was very open to questions during class. He was very open to answering questions in class and checking to see if we had questions. Also the take home quizzes had a bit more challenging questions that were very helpful to see. Take home quizzes I found office hours particularly helpful. Replacement quizzes. He works plenty of example problems within the lectures, and on review days. Thorough in explaining difficult concepts What would you recommend that your instructor change? Maybe go slower or explain things in simpler terms as many people didn't understand but would not ask. The third test was not written to where students had enough time to finish or to have adequate time to show their mastery of the topics I would recommend that the instructor offer a more narrow range of problems to study for the exams... I often found I studied the wrong problems that would not end up being on the exam. The way he organizes and presents his notes. The pace of teaching Slow down a little when people seem confused Sometimes it's a bit difficult to follow the lecture. His handwriting Try to teach in a way that people who don't understand calculus can still comprehend the subjects The difficulty level of the questions on the test. The problems on the test were way more difficult than the homework or examples in class. Maybe just find more ways to explain concepts to students. So if they don't particularly understand one method they have another. Work examples throughly when teaching new concepts, not skipping steps. Add harder example problems in class to do together Provide more notes online from the lectures and problems that help prepare for the exams. His teaching methods. He goes too fast. Make a review for each test Have more students work out problems in class How his notes were stored online. Separate each section would have been more convenient. I would like to see more example problems in class, however the 50 minutes may not allow for many more examples to be shown. I feel as if when he explains a topic, he can be very technical, instead trying to simplify it in a manner that comes off easier. Also, when asked a question, he'll tend to verbally explain. I wish he would pictorially explain it. When going through new concepts, the busy work he has to do for a problem sometimes won't be explained. Nothing What advice would you give another student considering taking this course? If you haven't previously taken calculus in high school or in college then this may be a lot harder for you than for someone who has. Also doing the suggested homework really helps in preparation for the test. Do all suggested homework problems and show all of your work even if you do not get an answer Attend class and complete the homework on time. Do the practice problems. Read the content before class and take personal notes. When you get to class, just follow along with his examples and work them out. Go to class everyday Do the home work and attend class Study file:///users/daniel/downloads/ math dan1010c.html 4/5

Go to class. Take it Go to tutoring outside of class DEFINITELY Study study study and study some more. Go to his office hours and to any help sessions you can. To always ask questions. Go to every help session you can to get help with the homework Make sure you fully understand how to do each webassign problem Study, study, study. Always seek help the course is very hard and you really need to get a lot of practice in knowing how to solve the problems. Ask questions, slow him down if he's going too fast, and pay attention to his work because he makes mistakes. Study the examples in the practice problems. Over and over and over Study even though you may already be good at math because the tests are tricky Listen and follow along when the instructor does his notes on the board. Do the example problems in the book and buy the answer solutions book. Stay on top of the online homework, go to week in review (or at least print out the review thats posted online to practice), don't forget about quizzes over the weekend, and don't blow off studying way in advance. Look at the suggested homework problems in the book, and go to class. Since there are a lot of opportunities to seek help in this course, my advice would be to use as many resources as possible. Just be prepared to have knowledge thrown at you. Read the tests carefully, on occasion the wording can be tricky. Pay attention in class. If you don't understand, ask. file:///users/daniel/downloads/ math dan1010c.html 5/5

He is very helpful in his office hours; however, he did not explain the material well sometimes in certain concepts. file:///users/daniel/downloads/ math dan1010c.html 2/6

I would recommend Professor Creamer because he clearly explained everything we needed to know for the course, and he was more than willing to help. Moves too quickly and isn't clear while explaining the content Overall he made the content very understandable and did a wonderful job explaining new concepts to us Unpreparedness. I don't know if the content is really that difficult to teach of if he was not knowledgeable about the concepts. I don't do well in math, yet he made it very easy to understand! When I didn't, he was great during office hours. Very caring and willing to work with you! yes Mr. Creamer was very easy to follow and explained everything clearly. 10/10 would recommend. I would recommend this instructor. Very passionate about teaching, and it clearly shows in the content of the class. I would not recommend because he seems to not know what he is doing at all times. For someone who is already confused on the material, this often makes it worse. Overall the course was easy, and the grading on tests and quizzes was very generous His office hours were very helpful. Daniel was always concious of his students and their needs in the class. He always made sure that the information was clearly covered and if you has issues, office hours were readily available. Because he is very knowledgble on the subject and if prepared he can explain it very well. New at the job. Concepts were very hard to grasp with his explanations. He works with his students and makes sure that they understand the material he teaches. Professor creamer genuinely cares about students and their progression through the class. He took his time teaching the concepts and made sure everyone had a clear understanding of the foundation. He explained concepts clearly and the quizzes and tests were relevant to the material we learned. I think we need more examples that cover different problems we could find on web assign and on the quizzes and tests. Does a good job with course layout. Sometimes not super clear at explaining but overall an effective instructor. Course expectations were made clear He is kind of flustered and makes a lot of mistakes. If he had answers to practice problems already worked out that may be helpful. I had to scratch many mistakes out of my notes because he was making mistakes students would make. Very helpful during office hours, good at explaining concepts in class. I usually understood everything with the exception of a few concepts I would recommend him because he really shows that he is on the student's side and is working hard for their success as well as his own. His inexperience at teaching is apparent, and that sometimes makes it hard for him to explain things in terms we would understand, but he tries to overcome this by making presentations that round out his points. He made the lessons easy to understand and was very helpful when help was needed. I would recommend Mr. Craemer because he cares about his students and knows what he is teaching. Very nice and friendly, easy to approach for questions. Is very capable He an easygoing teacher, he allow multiple attempts at homework and can do parts of the homework instead of the whole thing at once. He gives out partial credit if you got an answer wrong if and only if you showed your work. I would recommend him with the caution that he can sometimes be a little confusing, but in the end you are able to figure out what he is trying to get across Although a lot of the times I understood where you were going with understanding the material- it seemed like because you were so smart and good at math that you overcomplicated basic math concepts. So we would leave and then come back the next time for class and you would come up with a new way to solve it. But it was confusing to have been taught the unconventional way and then for you to revert back to the original way or more widely used way. Or you would say something about a file:///users/daniel/downloads/ math dan1010c.html 3/6

concept and then kind of revise that statement throughout the week as you did problems to contradict that statement, etc. It just sometimes made the concepts a little more difficult than they needed to be. I would recommend Daniel Creamer because he is patient in explaining concepts clearly, so the student may learn. I would recommend my instructor, he was very helpful and clearly wanted the students to succeed. I would recommend my instructor because he was always prepared for class with engaging lectures. I definitely learned more in this class than I did in many of my high school classes. helpful and smart and explains things clearly What did your instructor do that you found particularly helpful? His office hours were very helpful. He had plenty of office hours to come talk to him about the homework. He would pause during the lecture and let us ask questions I learn slowly so his help during office hours was particularly helpful. Broad office hours and general availability good at teaching He did many practice problems during lecture. Office hours were very helpful and lectures helped to learn the material. The instructor was incredibly clear and thorough, and took the time to go over multiple examples during class. This made understanding the concepts, as well as the homework much easier. His office hours were helpful. Gave examples Webassign was very helpful. He always opened up some in his schedule to help. He worked out multiple examples with us and even ones from our homework. His effort to help when I came in for office hours was much appreciated. His office hours are always available and that is very helpful. Very good at answering questions and being available and helpful in office hours Always offers extended office hours and constantly encouraging students to ask questions. Very refreshing learning environment. He went back and reviewed what we just learned that day and also allowed for questions during the lecture so we could get a clear understanding. He put all his slides with notes up on his website. I like that we can get out tests and quizzes back so I can go over them. Practice problems, answered many questions Allowing access to web assign practice problems at all times helped He gave us practice problems for ourselves to work out. Help with online homework during office hours He had very convenient office hours, and he always answered his s very quickly. His office hours were very helpful for me when I was absolutely stuck on something. Also the lecture notes online were very helpful because I could re-read the notes to help me gain a better understanding of the lecture. He posted the weekly class notes online. Lots of practice examples in class. Practice homework online. The practice problems because you could try to further understand concepts before you did the homework He provided ample examples, so that if you didn't understand the material first time around, you can see it applied multiple times. Going over several examples in class, super clear about quiz/test expectations, really tried to facilitate group learning/discussion He would solve problems many ones until we learned how to do by ourselves. Always taking questions and taking the time to understand the question and fully explain the answer. file:///users/daniel/downloads/ math dan1010c.html 4/6

Though math is not my strong suit, Mr. Creamer explained everything thoroughly enough for me to grasp his concepts. If there was any confusion, he would immediately respond and provide more clear examples to mend the confusion. office hours What would you recommend that your instructor change? explanation of the more difficult concepts Do a few more practice problems in class. Nothing He's great as is! Nothing comes to mind! He should teach slower because sometimes he would go very fast and I would get lost. n/a N/A N/A Not to teach based on off the required homework problems Practice the problems more before class so he does not mess up during class. There's too many examples of each new concept Explain concepts more clearly. Nothing That he would be more prepared for the lectures, although he generally is sometimes he is lost Better explanations and more clear on the content. Notes not always organized. Allowing more time for students to write down the problems. More efficient test review. Go over difficult web assign problems in class Being more prepared with his practice problems and having answers worked out before class so mistakes are less likely. I liked the class and have done really well. There's not really anything I can think of for him to change If the majority of the class isn't understanding a topic, he should stop and continue going over that topic rather than just moving on. N/A Make sure to run through examples before class in order to reduce amount for errors made in class. The textbook, I barely used it, recommend that it is not a requirement or needed as a whole just the web assign. To review material before class to erase any mistakes because they can be confusing when in instruction. I would recommend that maybe go slower during presentations- a lot of the time it was discouraging when the slide would turn and I hadn't had time to write down what I wanted to so that I could process the information. I think he might need improvement in explaining things more efficiently. Sometimes he explains many methods to solve a problem and that's what sometimes got me confused. This isn't necessarily the instructor's fault, but the textbook was very difficult to follow. The layout was confusing and the explanations in the book were not clear. If there was something I did not understand, I could not rely on the book to offer that extra support. nothing What advice would you give another student considering taking this course? make sure to go to office hours and use web assign practice problems to review for the exams Understand how to do the homework and don't be afraid to go into office hours and ask questions if you don't understand. Listen to lectures and don't be afraid to ask questions file:///users/daniel/downloads/ math dan1010c.html 5/6

Go to class. As long as you give it your effort, it'll certainly be a breeze with him! If you ever get confused over a concept, read the textbook. It genuinely clears things up and has good practice problems. go to class and listen Take notes during class and everything else will come easily. Do the homework Be prepared to be confused at times, but if you put in the work to pay attention and follow along with the well thought-out examples, then you will succeed in the class. Just study your homework and go to his office hours. You only have to show up on quiz days if you're good at math and can catch on easily Study webassign. None go to the week-in reviews and office hours Be prepared for a lot of independent learning outside of class. Take advantage of office hours if you don't understand a topic. It's important to go to class and do the online homework Keep up with your work and use the resources provided effectively If you attend class and actively listen, you will do well and also understand math more. Go to class. It's easy to understand when you hear him explain the concepts. Go to office hours Do all that is required and you'll be fine. Show up to class and start your web assign before the day it is due Go to help sessions if you don't understand the homework. I hear they help immensely. Start the homework multiple days before it is due so you have a chance to ask questions during office hours The lectures are the key to this class. Pay attention and always go to class and you'll get an A. If you have the option to take Daniel Creamer then take him. I'm not good at math but he helped make it easier for me. Utilitize the office hours O the practice problems a lot! Just do your work, take notes and study for the tests. Make sure if you don't understand the material, use all available resources that he provides. To go over practice problems when studying for test/quiz and if confused, bring it up in class or go to office hours because he would actually probably take the one on one time to help. Tak it! Study more as you go and do not procrastinate on the homework. The advice I would have is to do both the practice and the homework sections on web assign. Doing both would allow for a good homework grade and reinforce the ideas learned in class without having to do the extra studying. Also, study for tests by continuing to do the practice problems that are offered as supplemental assignments (from the textbook). pay attention in class file:///users/daniel/downloads/ math dan1010c.html 6/6
