2 Term 1 Unit: Brazil Unit: Antarctica Unit:The Unequal World (will run Project Project 2-3 weeks into Term 2) Title: Design and build Plan an expedition to the South Project The Unequal World your own ecosystem Diorama and a write a page explaining the Climate, vegetation and soil as well as the adaptations of animals in your chosen ecosystem. Using a show box or something similar, design, create and finish a diorama that shows ALL the key features of an ecosystem of your choice. Pole to commemorate the centenary of the death of Captain Scott and his team. Task: Design a plaque to commemorate the illfated polar expedition of Captain Scott and his team. You will then need to plan the expedition that will transport the plaque and place it at the South Pole. Research Captain Scott s expedition to the South Pole. Design a 20x30cm plaque to commemorate all of the explorers who perished during the Design and market a range of Fairtrade products. Students will explore world trade and widen their understanding of what fairtrade is by developing and marketing a range of Fairtrade products. Investigate and define world trade. Week 7 Use a map of Antarctica to plan your route from Scott s base camp at Mount Erebus to the South Pole (And back again) pictures. Week 5 Design marketing / promotion of their products. Week 6 Produce a display of products and marketing materials.

5 Term 4 Unit: USA Unit: Cross curricular- West Africa Unit: Coasts Project: Explore one of America s states and create a leaflet to inform other students about it. Research some of the states in the USA that you are interested in and decide on your chosen state. Start collecting information, images that will be used in your leaflet Carry on collecting further information -6 Create your leaflet about a chosen state: You must include: Map showing location, description of the environment, climate. Any important physical and human geography of the area.
