4 FACULTY The school has a well laid-out organizational chart for effective functioning. The teaching and non-teaching staff are well qualified and experienced. They represent various states of India Teachers are hand-picked for their skills, knowledge and experience. CBSE training courses are undertaken regularly by the faculty. Professional advancement programmes including lectures and workshops with national participation will be arranged. The faculty are encouraged to interact with parents to enhance their understanding of each student s background and needs.
5 Curriculum CBSE Curriculum The Central Board of Secondary Education is popularly known as CBSE. It is one of the most prestigious educational boards of India. The school will follow the CBSE pattern of Education for all children from KG to XII Std. Why CBSE Board? * CBSE is a national and powerful education board. It incorporates with international trends. * The syllabus is offered in more scientific manner. The entire syllabus is divided into units and every unit is allotted the number of periods required to cover it in the year. It makes easy to plan study in different segments of the syllabus accordingly. * CBSE pattern is followed for testing of candidates into - Examinations are conducted based on the curriculum and the pattern of examination for classes IX to XII. * CBSE also has the benefit of a desirable status with International universities. For proof one can see CBSE Schools in operation in Singapore, Russia, Africa and Middle East. * Of the top 100 schools in India 90 schools have CBSE syllabus. 60% of the IIT intake comes from CBSE whereas it is only 10% from ICSE, 28% from all the State Boards and 2% from other schools. * The pattern for entrance examinations of IIT-JEE & PMT, AIEEE, and Dental Courses, NDA, CDS and other defense and civil services follow CBSE.
6 Pedagogy Our core principles begin with the simple truth that each child has a unique and individual nature, worthy of respect, nurture and celebration. We believe that children are natural learners who gain knowledge by doing and communicating that is why we always plan active and engaging experiences for our child. Howard Garnder s theory of multiple intelligence was a breakthrough in perception of learning needs and skills of children. Nathella Vidhyodaya will be one of the very few schools in the country that hosts an ambience which will attune to suit the needs of children with different talents and hone varied intelligences. It is our goal to facilitate experiences that promote children's natural curiosity to actively learn, while creating an environment that allows children to grow and develop at their own pace. In Classes KG to VI teaching is activity based. Stress is laid on communication skills and self expression through public speaking and drama. Thematic teaching, with one theme a month, encourages children to explore issues through multi-disciplinary activities. Activities are also designed to sharpen creativity, curiosity, competence, analytical and problem solving skills. English, Math, and Environment Science taught through a theme selected for the month
7 Student Life and Activities Nathella Vidhyodaya advocates holistic development and extra curricular activities form an integral part of our learning environment. Students are ardently encouraged to pursue them and make the most of the opportunities offered to them.
