Make reference to its development and evolution and also the influence on certain social, political, economic and cultural. Teachings of the module Common Basic Training" and Anthropology of Sport and Physical Activity and Statistics will help the understanding of concepts relevant to the study of social aspects of sport. Analyze and assess the extent of sport as a cultural phenomenon in contemporary society 2. Analyze the evolution of sport in its social dimension GENERAL COMPETENCES Weighting CG1. Understanding scientific literature in English and other important languages widely used in the scientific field achieving a good management of information. CG2. Applying Communications and Information Technology (CIT). CG4. Conveying written and oral information about the subject in a correct way. CG5. Efficiently planning and organizing any type of activity. CG10. Developing competences to adapt to new situations and to promote selfstudy. CG11. Knowing and understanding the effects of physical activity on psychological and social features of human being. CE13. Applying physiological, biomechanical, behavioural and social principles to different fields of physical activity and sports. CE19. 7 SYSTEM FOR ASSESSING THE ACQUISITION OF THE COMPETENCES AND ASSESSMENT SYSTEM Assessment Tool LEARNING OUTCOMES ASSESSED Allocated Percentage Self-Development activity and/or test Classroom activities, practice, and/or supervised work R-1, R-2, R-3 60% R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, R-5, R-6, R-7, R-8, R-9 40% o To pass the subject in the 1st and 2nd call will be mandatory To overcome with, at least, 50% each of the evaluation tests proposed by the teacher. Each evaluation test will be stated by the teacher in the tutorial. Any student who does not successfully overcome some of the evaluation tests, but the final weight of the note exceeds 5, will be awarded a score of 4.5. Any student not attending the exam, even if other activities have been submitted in due course, will be considered as no-show. The marks obtained in the evaluation tests that scored 5 or more, will be saved until the 4th call. CRITERIA FOR GRANTING A GRADE OF A WITH HONORS Registration may be granted for every 20 students, the beneficiaries being students who have achieved top marks as long as they're less than 9.0. When several students have the same note and there is no honor registrations available to all, shall address the following criteria: Active participation in classroom Making an oral evaluation test about the contents of the course Catholic University of Valencia San Vicente Mártir 7
8 DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS COMPETENCES SOCIETY AND SPORT - Introduction to the sociology of sport - Sociological theories applied to the sport - Relation between sport and culture, socialization, education and mass media EMERGENT AND TRANSFORMATIVE FORMS OF SPORT - Sport in the nature - Sport and the body DIVERSITY AND SPORT - Gender, age and social class differentiation in sport - Sport like a integrative tool VIOLENCE IN SPORT CE1, CE2, CE4, CE6, CE13, CE19 CE1, CE2, CE4, CE6, CE13, CE19 CE1, CE2, CE4, CE6, CE13, CE19 CE1, CE2, CE4, CE6, CE13, CE19 TEMPORAL ORGANIZATION OF LEARNING (First and second enrolment): CONTENTS BLOCK / TEACHING UNIT SOCIETY AND SPORT EMERGENT AND TRANSFORMATIVE FORMS OF SPORT DIVERSITY AND SPORT VIOLENCE IN SPORT Nº OF SESSIONS o To pass the subject in the 3rdst and 4th call will be mandatory Students in 3rd and 4th call may attend to six (6) tutorials in order to revise for the evaluation of these competencies which might be pending in previous call.
