Through focus groups and surveys it was found that former students, current students, and staff members reported disruptions to instruction, harassment and teasing, and issues around respect. Check the primary area addressed by the goal: X Engagement Learning Relationships Rationale (Reference data sources that substantiate the need for this goal.): Information gathering through being a SIP Year One school produced data Data shows that BHMS has a higher number of low income students, mobile students, and suspensions than the district averages in these categories. Students with one or more suspensions at Black Hawk were at 27.9% compared to the district average of 12.5%. The Friendly Observer Report, student surveys, and staff surveys highlighted a need for alternative programs for high needs students.
