1 Transforming lives through exceptional education & training Strategic Plan

2 This is the first, new Strategic Plan for the Capital City College Group and will structure our priorities from The plan shows how we will direct the advantages afforded by the creation of the largest FE College Group in London to empower our partners initially City & Islington and Westminster Kingsway Colleges and Capital City College Training to provide exceptional education and training for our students, business clients and other stakeholders. The plan responds to a policy agenda requiring us to increase the provision of technical education, including sub-degree higher education. At the same time, our students will expect to see more of the delivery and administration of their learning programme managed through technology. Brexit and limits on immigration will increase the demands businesses make for colleges to provide suitably skilled candidates for new jobs and to retrain their existing workforce. Apprenticeships will remain a crucial medium through which this need can be met. Our income will increasingly be directed through new routes. The expansion of the loan system will require many adult students to make a financial commitment to their training; the Apprenticeship Levy clarifies the position of employers as the purchaser of training; and the devolution of other adult funding creates a powerful new relationship with the London Mayor. Our response to these challenges will provide the foundations on which the Capital City College Group will build the exceptional education and training offer to which it aspires. We will retain a commitment to traditional further education at our heart but also embrace new ways of working with businesses to focus on the needs of both our students and the wider economy in which they will work. We believe, through this, Capital City College Group will become established as an influential and impactful force working on behalf of the further education sector. July 2017 Alastair Da Costa Chair of Corporation Andy Wilson Chief Executive Officer
