1 Hardenhuish School Homework Timetables In accordance with the school s Homework Policy, to safeguard against pupils being set excessive amounts of homework on any given day, the homework timetables on the following pages should be adhered to whenever possible. Please note that this does not mean homework will definitely be set by the subjects named on these days as homework should always be relevant, challenging and meaningful and, therefore, will only be set when it is appropriate to do so. We do not believe in setting meaningless tasks and, therefore, subjects may decide not to set homework each time it appears on the timetable (Hardenhuish School Homework Policy 2017). Due to the differences in the way the lessons are timetabled in each year group, homework timetables for are organised as follows YEAR 7 YEAR 8 YEAR 9 YEAR 10 & 11 Organised by band and by tutor group. Organised by band and pupils s/humanities groups*. Organised by band and pupils Humanities groups*. The various option choice subjects have one of three letter codes depending on your child s choices/timetable**. Organised by band. Option choice subjects have one of four letter codes depending on your child s choices/timetable**. *The number of the s/humanities group your child is in can be found on your child s information on Show My Homework. Please note that the Y8 s/humanities groups and Y9 Humanities groups numbers do not indicate hierarchical sets. In each band there are groups for high prior attaining pupils across those subjects and all the other groups are made up of pupils with a mixture of prior attainment (there is, therefore, no difference in the academic profile of expectations of pupils from group 3 or group 5 for example). Please call Miss Humphries (KS3 Learning Manager if you need clarification regarding this). **The relevant letter code for Year 9 to 11 pupils different options subjects can be found on Show My Homework. If you are unable to see which letter codes apply to your child/children s personal options subjects on their timetable, please call the school and we will be happy to help you.
