UNIVERSITY TEACHING Courses Taught at MAE 4360 Mathematics Instructional Analysis Study of course objectives for the middle grades and high school curriculum and survey of methods and materials, which have special application for teaching mathematics. MAE 4326 How Children Learn Mathematics Instructional strategies, learning activities, the use of manipulative, lesson planning, evaluation of mathematical learning, and diagnostic techniques. MAE 4634 Programs in Teaching of Mathematics A consideration of special programs,

MAE 2801 Elementary School Mathematics This course is required for elementary education and exceptional education majors. Students explore whole number concepts and operations in base 8 and then move back to base 10 as they develop deep understanding of fraction concepts and operations. Emphasis is also placed on developing conceptual understanding of measurement and geometry. Courses Taught at Full Sail University GEN 173 Calculus I Calculus is the first of two pure mathematics courses. During this course, the concepts of limits, tangents, derivatives and integrals are covered, as they have direct applications in the optimization of physics formulas. Students are also introduced to multi-variable calculus. MGF 1213 College Mathematics and Algebra, Face to Face and Online The College Mathematics and Algebra Course is designed to enable students to build skills and confidence in algebra and applied mathematics that are required to succeed in future mathematics and core courses. First-time algebra students or those needing a review will begin with basic concepts and build upon these ideas by completing work that uses mathematics in practical situations. GEN 242 Linear Algebra The Linear Algebra Course is the second of two pure mathematics courses. The course starts with a quick review of selected topics in geometry, algebra II, and trigonometry. Students then build on that foundation for applications in collision detection and motion of objects. Vectors, matrices and quaternion are introduced to control the way objects move and interact on screen using C++/DirectX, and students create libraries of code functions that can be used in future courses. MTG 1205 Geometry and Measurement The Geometry and Measurement Course teaches students a wide spectrum of geometric concepts that are designed to build upon the math learned in earlier coursework. The curriculum will emphasize Euclidean geometry and its relationship to logic, trigonometry and coordinate geometry. The measurements, constructions, graphs, and problems involve angles, triangles, polygons, areas and volumes. Geometry and trigonometric skills are developed exploring problem solving through the logic calculations. Courses Taught at Valencia College

4 Bawatneh / 4 MAC 1105 College Algebra Course based on the study of functions and their role in problem solving. Topics include graphing, the linear, quadratic, and exponential families of functions, and inverse functions. Students will be required to solve applied problems and communicate their findings effectively. Technology tools will be utilized in addition to analytical methods. MAT 1033C Intermediate Algebra This course presents algebraic skills for MAC Topics include linear equations and inequalities in two variables and their graphs, systems of linear equations and inequalities, introduction to functions, factoring, algebraic fractions, rational equations, radicals and rational exponents, complex numbers, quadratic equations, scientific notation, applications of the above topics and the communication of mathematics. Applications emphasizing connections with disciplines and the real world will be included. MGF 1106 College Mathematics Topics include systematic counting, probability, statistics, geometry, sets, logic, and the history of mathematics. MAC 1114 College Trigonometry Topics include a symbolical, graphical, and numerical analysis of trigonometric functions; solutions of plane triangles and vectors. Applications emphasizing connections with other disciplines and with the real world will be included. Technology tools will be utilized in addition to analytical methods.
