Ony countries from the Commonweath can compete in the Commonweath Games (CG). The first CG was hed in 90 in Hamiton, Canada, with 400 athetes from countries competing in 59 events across 6 sports. Over the years the Games have grown, with the God Coast 08 Games hosting 6600 athetes/officias from 70 nations/territories competing in 77 events across 8 sports and 7 para sports. u The Core Vaues of the Games are Humanity, Equaity and Destiny. u The CG are often referred to as the Friendy Games and aim to unite Commonweath countries through sport. 08 is the XXI (st) Commonweath Games.
